She was born rich - whaddaya expect?

Unlike actors and actresses who came from humble roots, had no inside connections in the industry and who had to pay their dues (i.e. no "Mouseketeer" easy route to fame), Gwynnie was born to acting royalty with a silver spoon in her mouth.

Then she did a couple movies and inexplicably won an Oscar for Shakespeare in Love...

So who's to blame her for celebrating the good life?

You and I will lose ur jobs, homes and rely on food stamps for Ramen we can cook over campfires under bridges...and Ms. Paltrow will still be feastin' on her poussins.

And thanks to an American police-state that has revolution-proofed the country, Gwynnie will never, ever suffer the Marie Antoinette fate she so 'richly' deserves.

That, my friends, is the way things are. Any questions?

----------------

I do nurture one secret hope, though...

That the spawn of Paltrow and her castrated, Bono-wannabe, very-poor-man's Radiohead wuss-rock husband Chris Martin - yes, I'm talking about little "Apple" - one day rebels against her mommy and daddy.

I hope that Apple ends up eating Mickey D's fries, loving 50-cent Vienna sausages, cherry Coke and other non-macrobiotic, non-vegan, non-organic, non-smug-rich-hipster junk food.

I hope Apple buys a PC with Vista, a Samsung instead of an iPhone, ends up driving an F-350 dually that gets 0.9 miles per gallon...and grows to love listening to Motorhead, Sabbath, Floyd and Judas Priest - and automatically puking every time she hears Coldplay.

C'mon, Apple. Grow up to flip the proverbial finger at your annoying 'rents. Get a tattoo at 14, give your first BJ with the Pixies playing in the background at 15, slap your mom in her statuesque face at 16 and call your dad out as a limp-dick hack at 17.

Rock on with your bad self. Become Angelina 2.0. =)

@ Presumptuous Insect: Right on!

That's awesome! When it comes to acting skills, Cate could wipe the floor with Miss Gwynnie.

Original article: The death of the news

I stopped watching the local evening news...

...once I grasped the concept of critical thinking.

I was able to figure out the the 5 o'clock news was just a bunch of fearmongering sensationalism, designed to scare suburban white folk into buying the usual stereotypes - black people are all illiterate gangbangers, brown people are dangerous terrorists or illegal immigrants out to take jobs - and that the world outside of Shady Oaks McMansions was generally going to hell.

So spare me the "nobility of journalism" argument. Whether it be the local newspaper or the Channel 5 Investigative Journalism Unit, I refuse to shed a tear for hacks who secretly hope for tragedy - tornado? homicide? child abuse scandal? - to happen so as to boost ratings or readership.

Original article: Murder while Muslim

@ domini

Simply put, killing people is not acceptable. Islam has nothing to do with it.

Okay...except that Islam / the Koran justifies killing in the name of God / Allah.

(And yes, so does Christianity / the Bible. As an agnostic, I certainly don't refute that!)

Hence, for example, stoning a woman to death just because she (allegedly) talked to an unrelated male - among other ways to murder females - is acceptable practice in Islamic culture*.

Why are white American feminists such as Lynn Harrisalways tripping over each other to act as apologists for such misogynistic, barbaric acts?

Because apparently being politically correct trumps everything else in their liberal identity. They sell out their sisterhood just to avoid any possible (unwarranted) accusation of racism or xenophobia.

That is really tragic to me.

----------------

Islamic religion & Islamic culture - is there really a difference?

Same question could be asked about Jewish religion, Jewish culture and Jewish identity. How are they not one and the same? Just sayin'...

Would you take a Jewish friend to Western Europe circa 1940?

No?

Then please do not take your dog to SouthEast Asia.

Dogs are at best stray, diseased vermin to many of these people - and at worst a tasty dinner entree.

To those who say, "Well, ,some SE Asians do NOT eat dogs and even have them as pets" - how the heck is the LW supposed to know the exact cultural mores of the area to which she migrates?

Yes, it might be a Western-oriented pet-loving town...or Lucy might get stolen for stir-fry within a week of leaving quarantine.

-------------------

Bottom line: if you love the pooch, DO NOT SUBJECT HER TO DANGER.

Leave her in the good ol' USA...if not with her first owner, give her for free to a loving person/family you have carefully screened.

Hey Poco - want a comic you'd find politically funny?

Read yesterday's New York Post.

The comic...hehehe =)...equates our nation's first black President with a lunatic monkey who - get this! - gets shot dead by a couple of white cops! LOL!!

Way to give it to that liberal socialist commie Neg-ro, right?! *nudge* *nudge* Hahaha!

Sincerely,

Your fellow American conservatives

Oh - and by the way, Republikkkan trolls?

Just a reminder:

You lost the Presidency.

You lost the House.

You lost the Senate.

And you're no longer relevant to anyone other than your fellow rich WASP evangelical suburbanites who fear and loathe anyone who dares to look, think, worship or love differently than them.

Any questions?

Flame on, if you must...
