Please, ladies & gentlemen...

Don't feed the konservative troll.

And if Kiera did have an eating disorder (which she doesn't: if you look at most of her full-body pics, her physique actually has some decent toned muscle to it), then exactly how bulimic and manorexic must Ann Coulter be by comparison? Jeez, that supposed sexpot of Republicans is nothing but skin draped over a skeletal bag of bones...

Original article: Chewing the fat

It's not the water bottle, people

And it's not the toned celebrities who *gasp* refuse to put on 50 pounds of flab so we can all feel better about being slovenly, Cheetos inhaling couch potates.

And it's not the ubiquitous ads for fatty foods on TV, billboards, etc. Many fit people out there are ALSO exposed to these ads all the time - and they somehow are able to exert some free will and self-control by NOT dashing to the nearest McFattie's for a 2 lb bacon greaseburger.

--------------

So what is it?

It's the mental dysfunction. It's the emotional baggage.

It's the same things that lead to other addictions, like alcoholism and hard drugs.

But in the case of obesity, the addictive poison...the one that gives you just enough endorphins to make it thru another day...the chocolate fudge ice cream that makes the pain and the memories go away for just a little bit...is FOOD.

---------------

There is no tougher addiction to conquer than a food addiction. Why?

Because you can swear off heroin. You can ditch former drinking friends who enabled your alcoholism.

But you cannot swear off food. You can't kick out all the "eaters" in your life and start fresh.

ANd yet, the means of handling this addiction is/should be the same as with any other: therapy, and support groups.

Let's break the cycle, folks...

@ Lyle Austin

Oprah tried helping black Americans many times. Her efforts for real change failed. The recipients of her help ended up with resentful, jealous friends & families determined to keep them all in the miserable cycle of poverty - rather than use the opportunity to rise up together.

So Oprah instead helping Africans in foreign countries. The result? Very successful - these people were actually capable of gratitude for the assistance...thankfulness manifest as ambition to keep working, be self-sufficient and then help others by paying it forward.

--------------

I would sooner help people who can appreciate and take the most advantage of my assistance - people who are actually capable of change, and who are not indoctrinated into a life of misery that all they can do is complain.

The bum on the corner of my street will never get a dollar from me. That's a dollar wasted.

The kid in Guatemala who needs clothing and shoes to go to school, get an education and improve he and his family's lives? He gets my dollar, and then some.

Understand?

P.S. to African Americans: while you've kept crying out for reparations, etc. etc., Hispanics have eclipsed you as the biggest minority in the USA.

They're taking the jobs that are apparently beneath all of you, working their asses off to ensure upward mobility of their kids, and taking steps to integrate themselves as productive members of the American community.

Don't bother looking in the rear view mirror...they've already overtaken y'all.

Shouldn't black Americans be the biggest voice against immigration in this country? Who else has/will be affected so negatively by the Hispanic influx?

Original article: Turn around, Bright Eyes

If/when an "angsty teen" emo ever grows a pair...

...he might just start making decent music with gravitas - kinda like, oh, Johnny Cash, maybe?

The Beatles went from 'I Wanna hold your Hand' to 'I am the Walrus'. Why cannot Oberst repent for his pretty boy indie-pop days and grow as an artist?

Sorry, Judy - I think the best you can do is start listening to the Jonas Brothers. Conor sounds like he's gone from boy to man.

Cheers,

And if Dave *cough* 'Electro Robot' *cough* Satan ever made a movie...

It would be of Dick Cheney heroically gunning down non-rich, non-evangelical-Christian, non-suburbanite, non-missionary sex only darkies, and taking their oil to power his Hummer H2 - with, naturally, a "God Bless the USA...and F#ckin' Kill Everyone Else!" on his bumper.

And by the way, why does a Repub neocon troll have to change his name every week, Electro-Electro Robot-Satan??

Shouldn't you be listening to your God-man Dubya Bush and "stay the course"? =)

Original article: The Natalie Portman problem

Imaginary "MPDG" beats out many real-life women for guys...

Real-life women: humorless feminist (who hates all women not named MacKinnon) & who deconstructs everything to the point that you cannot eat a banana without being accused of phallocratic sexual harassment (been there, dated that ;-( ).

OR...."The Hills" watching shallow, superficial American Princess (JAPs, BAPs, DAPs) etc. who don't have a thought in their head...

OR....intelligent, easygoing, cool woman (whoa, jackpo..) - who's Daddy abandonment issues lead them to make platonic friends out of decent guys and bfs/fiances/husbands out of emotionally abusive assholes. (Dammit).

---------------

Give me the escapism of Natalie, Audrey Tautou and Rachel McAdams any day over the 21st century "real" American woman.

Just sayin'. Flame on if you must.

LMAO...feeding the troll is such a darn guilty pleasure

I'd keep sparring with ya, Robot Satan, but this "dirty hippie slacker fuck" has some experiments in his lab - at his full-time research scientist position - to get back to.

Keep having fun with those liberals-are-hippies stereotypes, though...in between fantasizing about a 3-way with Karl Rove and Mann Coulter.

Oh, and by the way - being a Neocon is soooo 2003. Whoever wins in November, the days of your crack-addled, religious-right felchin' Pwesident Dubya's reign are at an end, my kkkonservative friend.

If I were you, I'd take a break from trolling Salon and start looking for a coping mechanism...and quick! Therapy? Crystal meth? Immigration to Russia - the last bastion of greedy robber baron neocons? (Oh, the irony!)

Good luck with all of that.
