Ahh, Jonathan...you are a sorer loser than Belichick
[Read the article: King Kaufman's Sports Daily]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]"...but then I see all the assholes continuing to be assholes, just spurned to greater heights of assholishness by their hoped outcome of the game coming true."
As if Patriots fans & apologists such as yourself would NOT have been spurned to greater heights of assholishness had New England won? Oh, that's right, I forgot - Bostonians are too classy to be guilty of schaudenfraude, right?
"Stop me if I'm wrong but the Pats defense played a monumental game."
Okay - stop. You are wrong. You rip on Eli in your sour grapes point #4 - and yet your 'monumental' Pats defense could not stop him and his offense from scoring a game-winning TD in the last two minutes?
Two more words to prove you are wrong: Ellis. Hobbs.
"Mike Curry always makes me nervous in a "he won't make any good calls" way."
Ahhhh, the last refuge of the sore loser: "Teh refs cheated us! *sob*"
Reality check #1 - there has been at least 1 SuperBowl that was spoiled by bad refereeing.
It was not this one.
Seahawks fans have a legitimate beef about bad calls during their SB loss to the Steelers. The Pats do not.
Reality check #2 - every...and I do mean EVERY...NFL team has been on the lucky side of a bad call. And EVERY NFL team has also been on the unlucky side of a bad call. That's football, baby. You don't like it? Become a curling fan instead.
Reality check #3 - in regular season games against the Ravens and the Eagles, the Pats got more than one bad call going their way to preserve their "perfection"; 14-2 just doesn't have the same ring to it as 16-0, does it?
"Their pathetic teams won't sniff 19-0 ever"....
Another classic trademark of the whiny, pissy, petulant sore loser: Well...*sniff* *sob* your teams will always be pathetic, and my team came close...so, like, screw you! *sob*"
Yup - they came close, Jonathan. And we all know that NEARLY winning a SuperBowl Championship is almost like winning a SuperBowl Championship, right?
Right?
I'm done. You can take your marbles and go home now.

HRC "feminist" supporters, let me get this straight -
[Read the article: Our candidates, ourselves]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Logic:
So women MUST vote for Hillary because she is female - otherwise, they will be accused like Oprah of selling out their gender.
THEREFORE
It logically follows that men MUST vote for a male candidate - such as Obama or (if HRC wins the Dem nomination) McCain - because he is a man...or else they would be acting traitorously to their gender as well. Correct?
Hmmm...as a lefty/libertarian male progressive, normally I would be 100% supportive of the Dem presidential nominee...
But as I am also a supporter of women's rights, I also have no choice - should it come down to Clinton vs. McCain - to follow the feminist line by being loyal to my gender, and voting for the candidate with a penis and testicles.
Okay....doesn't make sense to me, but if you all say so....

Please, feel free to throw away your vote in '08
[Read the article: Make your own candidate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]In 2000, naive I-just-wanna-feel-good-about-myself-and-pat-my-own-shoulder-for-being-so-totally-principled! idealist lefties like yourself threw your votes away on a megalo named Ralph Nader.
They could have been realistic and voted for a candidate who actually would have at least made strides towards social changes that they'd claim were important - i.e. Al Gore.
But no - they voted for the candidate that made their hearts flutter. Never mind that it was a meaningless vote for a candidate who didn't stand a chance...
And now, 8 years later? EPA policies have been destroyed/rolled back 30 years by Dubya. Thousands of people have been killed in Dubya's Iraq War. Civil liberties and protection of women's rights have been trampled upon under Dubya. Tax cuts for the wealthy and a growing number of poverty-stricken Americans - all under Dubya.
And you know what, Nader/Kucinich lovin' idealists? Say what you will about the candidate you scorned, Al Gore - but none of the above would have happened under his stewardship.
****************
But the past is over, and here we are in 2008.
And the vast majority of progressive and independent Americans realise that their vote is too important to throw away. They realise that their vote may have consequences.
So Hannaham, feel free to piss your vote away on a candidate who has zero chance of being elected.
Your idealism is simply not gonna cost this country 4-8 more years of neocon tyranny. Not this time. The rest of us understand the need for REAL progessive change - not the stuff of dreams, but enacted social policy - and we are selfless enough to be pragmatic instead of stubborn in our principles....
Liberal America has woken up and smelled the coffee.
And you and your ilk just don't scare me anymore, you head-in-the-clouds, selfish, psuedo-idealist narcissist.
