  • We can end all the bickering, because this outcome is inevitable:

[Read the article: Obama and the Kennedy legend]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

There are more middle-class to upper-middle-class white women in the USA then there are minorities and young adults (primarily Obama supporters) combined.

These white women will vote for Hillary because she is a woman. Oh, sure - they will make obligatory denials about this (see this letter thread for examples), saying it's about who's best for president, etc...

But they will vote for her mainly if not solely because she is a woman. AND as I said above, their numbers advantage means Clinton will win the Dem nomination over Obama.

She will then promptly lose the national election to anyone who the GOP nominates; after all, so very very many people in this country hate Hillary...and the minorities and/or youth who were inspired by Obama will be too disillusioned to pretend to like/support a career divider/psuedo-centrist - the kind of white "liberal" woman who speaks about civil rights and then crosses the street when she sees a black man coming her way...

(and yes, there are plenty of such women - visit any private, expensive "liberal" college to get a sampling).

Bottom line - four more inevitable years of horrendous GOP rule.

Just do me/us one favor, Hillary: don't run again in 2012. One (failed) presidential campaign should be enough for your ego, shouldn't it? Thanks in advance.

  • 1.) Let him go 2.) Go enjoy gettin' it on with everyone else

[Read the article: I'm afraid I'll be unfaithful to my husband]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

1.) If this guy is as amazing as you say he is, then clearly you do not deserve him or his love.

You clearly do not know how lucky you are - and therefore you will never value and respect him as much as HE deserves. And yes - it seems inevitable you will cheat on him at some point.

Let him go, so that he can find happiness with a deserving woman.

Don't take this personally, please; it's just that there are so many single women out there - just as smart, sexy, confident etc. as you are (if not more so) - who are willing/ready/able to be faithful to a wonderful, decent guy...

...And since it is apparent that you will only hurt him if you marry him - (probably turning him as bitter and misogynistic as some of those Broadsheet trolls), DO THE RIGHT THING and end your engagement.

2.) Afterwards, go have fun and sow your wild oats. Maybe you'll find out that you are polyamorous or promiscuous; maybe you'll find out that your inability to be faithful is not about sex/sexuality, but about emotional fear...or sadism in yourself.

And maybe, just maybe, if/when you've sown enough oats, you'll feel an urge to be in a lasting relationship with someone...

...Or perhaps you will reach an age/appearance where nobody deems you as attractive as you once were - and as the opportunities for fucking dissipate, you'll have no choice but to settle anyway for whatever man or woman still wants you.

    ******

Whatever YOUR outcome will be, Mr. Nice Guy will find happiness with someone else. So get yourself some good karma already - & let him go.

  • Forcing me to pay $18.99 for a CD with only one decent single

is stealing. As in the record industry/artists stealing from my wallet.

File-sharing is a beautiful thing. And if musical acts wanna make the shitloads of money they expect to make for being in showbiz, all they have to do is one thing:

    Tour.

Most of us file-sharing "stealers" openly support the musicians whose songs make it to our MP3 players by not only cluing in others about them (as I did by introducing my friends to Yael Naim), but also attending their concerts.

So quit whining, rock stars, and play a gig or two already. You make money, we enjoy your show, everybody wins.

(Well, everybody except record execs - and for the crap they try to foist on us, they could all go f*ck themselves...)

  • Don't worry, Edwards fans

[Read the article: Edwards bows out, but stays on message on the way]

If Barack prevails, I believe he will almost certainly ask/pick John to be his running mate...

And whether the likes of ElephantMan, kufir77 etc. like it or not: Obama-Edwards would be a damn near unbeatable ticket - regardless of who or what the Repubs throw at them!
