"Might be the simplest recipe I have ever written."

That's an understatement.

@ peeps

No way.

Have you noticed that Obama is black? Seriously, the guy is black. No one ever thought a black guy could become president in our lifetimes, but, then McCain chose Palin. While the rightwing mouthfrothers loved this choice, there was a collective gasp from the independents. "Oh no he didn't!"

Independents who were leaning McCain 1) didn't like Palin and 2) questioned McCain's judgement on the decision.

Palin sealed the deal. And while I will concede she can have an effect on the local level, on the national level, she will continue to deliver votes for the democrats.

BTW, McCain's a pussy for not defending his people. I'm glad he's not president: if he's not willing to defend the people working for him, I can't see him willing to defend the American people either. Like all Repubs he's a blow hard coward.

Original article: Barbie, eat a sandwich

Bashing Barbie

How original.

@ On the Beat

So, you would defend a person’s right to burn the flag, but not a child’s right to not say the pledge, even though the SCOTUS has ruled that a child does have the right to refuse to recite the pledge?

That’s an interesting contortion your able to make. I can’t say you logic makes one iota of sense, though.

@ ckgilbert

Great post. I love you use of irony.

I hate the fascist rightwingers who kill millions. I hate the left wingers who do the same. . . . Love trumps all ideology. It always did it always will.

Maybe you should quit hating and partake in a little of that Godly love you speak of.

Per the Federal Rules of Civil Procedure:

"If, after notice and a reasonable opportunity to respond, the court determines that Rule 11(b) [Representations to the Court] has been violated, the court may impose an appropriate sanction on any attorney, law firm, or party that violated the rule or is responsible for the violation."

Not only should she be forced to pay the fine, but she should be disbarred as well.

@ Gordon

Wingnuts. Teabaggers. What gives with the name-calling?

I wonder where that "Teabagger" name came from? It's almost as if the people holding the "tea parties" gave it to themselves. But in your version of reality, this is "name-calling." How interestingly delusional.

Stupid is

as stupid does.

And America is full of the incredibly stupid.

@ tryfan

Exactly what court would you take this to?

Assault is defined as: "the tort of acting intentionally and voluntarily causing the reasonable apprehension of an immediate harmful or offensive contact."

Do you think that because the assault took place on a soccer field that the law doesn't apply? Do you think New Mex U doesn't have a code of student conduct? What about the NCAA?

BTW, I don't care how much of a norm this is among female soccer players, if you're going to try this shit, you better not get caught. She got caught.

Dumb Fucks

dum dum dems always figuring out a way to snatch defeat from the hands of victory.

Obama needs to get off his fucking bi-partisan high horse and start getting shit done. If the Blue Dogs don't want to get on board, sell 'em out. They're already dead anyway.

@ Baron Scarpia

Are you serious? Really, are your panties in that big of a wad over this?

Prejean filed a libel suit against the Miss USA Pagent. She knowingly filed a false suit in order to discredit the Pagent. Per her attorney, Charles LiMandri: "Carrie Prejean's good name has been tarnished by your client's [Miss California USA] false and defamatory accusations."

Yet her EX-boyfriend is the peice of shit?

The Pagent has a duty to defend itself and it did. Prejean knew the tape existed, yet she persisted to make false claims against the Pagent. I think your defense of her at the expense of her ex-boyfriend is quite short-sited and is more than a little ignorant.

@ zornka

What are you talking about? Even for your low nonsensical standards, that doesn't even make sense.

@ youngservative,

If what you are saying is that Prejean's "persecution" is both imaginary and manufactured in order for her to get attention than I think many would agree. After all, if Prejean agrees with the President, then it couldn't possibly reason that her loss was the result of what she claims is liberal bias, then would it?

Values

1) There is more to this than Broadsheet is letting on. I seriously doubt miniskirt girl just went to class one day and all of a sudden she is a whore.

2)With that ridiculously huge statue of Jesus in Rio, you’d think these people are Christian or something. And, quite amazingly, that whole Carnival thing seems to always coincide with Lent.

3)“Brazil is the land of bikinis (and their waxes)” Way to go Julia! Glad to see Broadsheet meet its quota for weekly references to pubes. And, to think, its only Tuesday.

4) SRS’s comment: “Until these people learn how to communicate in proper English they obviously cannot handle a miniskirt.” I’m sorry, but that shit is funny!

5) To think, when they call her a whore, it’s a scandal, but if they had just murdered her, this wouldn’t even be a news story. Go figure.

Palin revives "death panels"

MEW revives irrelevant '90s band.

Both are outraged! Both post idiotic rants to their electronic medium of choice.

So MEW, do you and Palin chit chat on the phone over the weekend to figure out who is going to be “outraged” over whatever is the manufactured scandal du jour? You know, so you don’t step on each other toes?

War is Peace
