This strange super-lying mode that McCain, et al have been engaged in has really affected a change in the political discourse among many journalists and pundits. I've heard so many commentators actually use the words "lie," "lying," "liar," "dishonest," etc. when describing McCain, Palin, their campaign, their claims, their surrogates and their policies.
It's not happening near enough yet, but it is happening. This is the first time in years where it seems that respectable talking heads are no longer afraid of calling a lie a lie.
The next big step is going to be for someone to confront either McCain or Palin directly with the word "lie."
There are lessons to be learned on both sides here.
Candidates and their campaigns simply cannot follow a path of near-pathological lying without facing severe consequences.
Journalists and reporters are learning that calling candidates on LIES isn't a career-killer for them. If anything their stock will go up in the eyes of a public that is sick of being lied to.

I don't think she realizes that she has no idea what she's talking about.
My membership in Facebook group "I'm proud to say that LSD-25 has contributed positively to my life" has been a source of never-ending amusement for my 16 year old daughter and her massive circle of [400] Facebook friends.
...the LOSER POLICE!
...but now I just did.
Thank you Garrison and Alma for this small reminder.
My pet peeve with Biden:
His unnerving face-lift.
As for Palin, her strange fake-cowgirl accent along with the winking verged on being creepy.
Good for her, however, for excellent prep and a good show.
See you in Alaska, Sarah!
Comet Kohoutek?!
We love you, Walter!
Let's face it...
The only people left in America who don't know whether to vote for McCain or Obama or whose minds could be changed at this late date are what we might politely refer to as "clinically stupid."
Unfortunately, the clinically stupid don't respond to 13 minute YouTube commercials.
If the attack can't be sealed in delivered in perhaps two or three succinct [preferably rhyming] sentences, then it isn't going to help reach the people it needs to reach.
Usually he looks pretty good.
Today he looked old and his normally perfect combover was messy. His shirt looked a bit rumpled. He looked tired, and his left eye seemed to be stuck in a semi-squint.
I, a notch below Communist as far as my leftist tendencies, defended McCain to my friends when he became the nominee:
"The Republicans nominated someone who is impossible to hate - a nice guy who has had a genuine tradition of acting his conscience."
Does the taste of absolute power corrupt absolutely?
Kristol is a lifelong disappointment, but I can't believe that a little bit of him doesn't die inside every time he ejaculates over another love letter for Sarah.
Michelle Obama is scheduled to appear on Larry King tomorrow (Wednesday, October 7) evening.
Could it be that she is being deployed with this story and others like it as arrows in her quiver?
McCain forgot his American flag lapel pin - AGAIN!
Why does John McCain hate America?
McCain started out of the gate with what he clearly perceived as an exciting and new plan to shore up the economy: buying and renegotiating troubled mortgages.
This is actually a wonderful idea - but it is neither new nor belongs to McCain. McCain's deployment of the idea either fell flat or was simply lost along with everything else discussed throughout the debate.
He looked as if he thought he was delivering the coup de grace in the opening round with that one and he was wrong.
Meanwhile, preparations are underway for the next America First rally. Speaking with McCain and Palin will be the ghosts of Charles Lindbergh, Senator Wheeler and Father Coughlin.
Armbands optional.
Thanks for the ACORN cut and paste job.
Lindbergh and Coughlin would be proud!
All of a sudden I'm noticing several murder-suicides in the news every week. Is this always happening? Is it happening more of late?
Would presenting an argument like this for a similar case in the US be grounds for disbarment? My guess is that it probably wouldn't be grounds for disbarment, unfortunately.
Perhaps the UK equiv. to disbarment is on the table for this assjack back in Merry Olde England.
Please use YouTube for your videos instead of Brightcove. Brightcove performs poorly for those of us with shitty internet connections.
Word!
1975 called and they want their mall back.
WIC is a fantastic program. We didn't qualify for it when we had our baby in 1992, however my sister qualified with her first child a couple of years later.
It was astonishingly easy to participate in the program and the benefits thereof are tangible and really can make a difference.
While it is tragic that 45% of new babies need the program, it is encouraging to know that they are being covered through the program.
Perhaps Stacy or somebody else can explain something:
Throwing a grenade into an American military vehicle during wartime would appear to be a normal battlefield action.
What causes Jawad's act to rise to the level of something that merits indefinite detainment at Guantanamo? Is it because he was fighting out of uniform?
We didn't prosecute German or Japanese or Korean or Vietnamese footsoldiers. What is different here?
