So What?

We finally have congress folk who make it plain that they do not believe the FBI on this issue. But, so what?

Will the MSM hold the FBI's collective feet to the fire? Will they hound upper level FBI men asking by sticking mics in their face and asking questions every time they go into public?

Will congress take any action? Will the FBI's budget get cut or someone get impeached? Will anyone pay any price at all for the obvious refusal to answer congressional questions honestly?

I wager no. I would love to be wrong, but the history of these things over the last 30 years says that nothing will happen.

No FDIC fund

Rozeff:

There is no FDIC fund. There are only IOUs in it signed by Uncle Sam.

When the FDIC receives its insurance premiums from banks, it invests them in US bonds (what else can it do?). Uncle Sam then spends the money it borrows. It is long gone. When the FDIC needs money, it will redeem the bonds. Uncle Sam will then have to borrow. The budget deficit will then rise.

Shades of the empty Social Security trust fund.

Well, Al Gore and his "lock-box" would be a welcome sight these days, eh?

Why are we discussing music? I like 3 part homeo as well as the next guy but the music discussion group is down the hall to the left.

How the GOP Wired Ohio's 2004 Vote Count for Bush to Win

http://www.alternet.org/democracy/99337

or click sig

An election whistleblower who is a Republican, a nationally known data security and computer architecture expert, and an Ohio resident has filed a sworn affidavit in federal court that describes how Republican Party consultants in 2004 built an electronic vote counting network in Ohio that could have stolen votes to re-elect the president.

The whistleblower, Stephen Spoonamore, who has run or held senior technology positions in six technology companies, and whose clients have included MasterCard, American Express, NBC-GE, and federal agencies including the State Department and the Navy, said Mike Connell, a longtime Republican Party computer networking contractor, "agrees that the electronic voting systems in the US are not secure" and told Spoonamore in 2007 "that he (Connell) is afraid some of the more ruthless partisans of the GOP may have exploited systems he in part worked on for this purpose."

Very good stuff, and important to understand as we look at what is possibly another "close" election.

What can/should we expect from President Obama here? -- Iokannan in the Well

I am not sure what you "should" be able to expect; but I do have a clue as to what you can expect. Obama will throw you under the bus as soon as elected. Does that mean I am for McCain? Hell no.

It means that, with the possible exception of Jimmy Carter, every president in my lifetime has been a lying bag of dirt. I see no reason to expect otherwise from the next guy.

Hell, even that warmongering, murdering, bulling Bush promised a much more "humble" foreign policy than that of the Clintons. Did it work out? Not so much.

Head in sand ...

Using the dishonesty of the deranged imbecile George Bush in order to gauge how bad Obama might turn out to be hardly seems reasonable. -- Kitt

And that is not what I did. Is it ok for people to come here day after day mis-reading Glenn, and have you point that out as wrong, but you may do it often yourself and it is fine? Not so much.

Ah, but in "troll-think"... -- Wabanatta_3

-- Kitt

Please feel free to learn to read, they even have free courses for the likes of you in some locals.

On the other hand, those who are simply argumentative and aggressively misread others words over and over often teach in the Republican political camps, or so I have heard. Perhaps you do that. Does it pay well?
