Damn, how can we get all time record lows just as the world was predicted to burn up? link@sig

Have a nice Sunday, and don't worry: New Smyrna Beach will still be there in 2040 as it is now with only a little natural erosion.

If you can compare the military/political/industrial complex of the Empire of the USA to the tribal leaders of Afghanistan, then I want some of what you are smoking. Did you grow it yourself or buy it?
Why do you love the Empire so? Are you one of its paid minions?
There would not be military overlords unless there was a very strong central government robbing the working poor to pay for this wealth redistribution scheme. And there would not be corporate overlords unless they got grants, special regulatory favours, outright gifts, and so forth from the powerful central government to pay for corporate welfare and other wealth redistribution schemes.
One wonders how people can love the ultimate source of their pain so much. I guess the "apes with tools" are not as smart as they think they are.
You seem to be on a good roll these past few days and weeks. Good job Glenn.
I looks like it is an absolute necessity to the Post and other beltway fools that we spend so much money killing innocent families in Asia that we can not save the poor, destitute, and hopeless here in our own country. We are killing kids there by acts of aggression and killing kids here by acts of neglect. Win/win the Post says.
... I spoke at our own little rally in my local town of Eureka, California. My neighbor Ellen Taylor decided to spice up the proceedings by having a guillotine on the platform, right beside the Eureka Courthouse steps. It’s in the genes. Her father was Telford Taylor, chief U.S. prosecutor at Nuremberg.

The Obama administration promptly rushed to cover its left flank by announcing it’s planning to impose cuts in executive pay at seven companies with substantial bailout funds. The U.S. senate’s parlor populist, Bernie Sanders, dutifully proclaimed that the Obama administration deserve praise for “taking an important step forward in trying to control the obscene compensation packages of the top executives on Wall Street.”
Note the meek qualifier, “trying.” The truth of the matter is that the Obama team has managed the tricky shot of giving more bailout money to the banks than the cumulative dispensations of all previous U.S. governments, while at the same time NOT giving any significant debt relief to ruined homeowners, a huge slice of whom is poor, black and Hispanic. Obama is not seeking to reform the financial system, and it would be beyond miraculous if he did, since the contrivers of the present mess – Lawrence Summers, et al – were given a welcoming clap on the back by the new president, as he stepped into the White House and told them to get on with the job. This amazing bailout for the existing corrupt system – as if Lenin had used the October revolution to restore the Romanovs – has been engineered without significant opposition from organized labor or the left-ßliberal end of Obama’s own party.

This one is by Alexander Cockburn and he is hot today. This may be one of the finest essays out of the left this year. Well worth a read. But note that the site loads a little slow these days; they must be screwing with the layout also.
I think it is a "worldview" problem. He can not see that he is being a total hypocrite on the issue. I don't believe anyone could explain it to him. Not even Alan Grayson.

Barack Obama sees worst poll rating drop in 50 years
It might be his continued support of the foreign wars/quagmires and the continuing bankster bailouts. Maybe.
Alan Grayson is in a district that often will vote Republican. He is making waves in his own party as well as in general. So, if you like what you see; you can send our good friend a few bucks for his re-election campaign. It is not a lock, and I would hate to lose Alan. (the smartest lawyer I ever talked to in person)
There have been real societies here on Earth that came close to the ideal. The medieval Iceland anarchy was not all that bad a deal. (weather was better back then also)
Like any blowhard all his "predictions" are about 50 years from now. I have seen the data and "man-made-heat-to-kill-us-all" is a f'ing hoax. It brings in grant money to a few scientists that could not make it in a hard science.
So, where is your prediction?
To remind everyone. I predict a very cold hard winter with many new coldest records set all over the country. I predict cold weather early and warm weather in spring to arrive late.
What you got?
