lwm says everyone who does not worship Lincoln is a racist!

In his last little mindless regurgitation, we see that lwm thinks Mencken was a racist along with nearly everyone of his time. Damn, and look at all the evidence the twit brings to the table! Well, you can look at it when he finds it. I suggest he look up the work of a court historian and cut and paste some attacks and so forth.

Because it remains that Lincoln was a dictator while in office who shredded the constitution to maintain power, not to end slavery. The twit went to school right? Have you read no original source material at all, given your certainty that America is so special that it had to be the only country to wage war to free the blacks.

We have here a display of lwm's cult worship and it shows, as this sort of thing always does, that facts can not get in the way of his worship and myth. Well, Mencken's point about waiting to issue the Proclamation and then only to free blacks that he had no power to do? He says Mencken is a racist, anti-Semite who smoked and drove an SUV!

Damn, that clears that up!

What about this? Congress announced to the world on July 22, 1861, that the purpose of the war was not "interfering with the rights or established institutions of those states" (i.e., slavery), but to preserve the Union "with the rights of the several states unimpaired." At the time of Fort Sumter (April 12, 1861) only the seven states of the deep South had seceded. There were more slaves in the Union than out of it, and Lincoln had no plans to free any of them.

You Republicans can worship dictator Lincoln all you want, but the truth is that the worst disaster to ever befall the USA was the work of a madman who wanted to cleanse the USA of every black. He wanted to send the lot back to Africa! What a guy!

I did not realise you were such a Republican --- to hell with the "Party of Lincoln".

Lincoln's war destroyed the Union philosophically by destroying its voluntary nature. This was widely understood in the North as well as the South in 1861. As the Brooklyn Daily Eagle editorialized on Nov. 13, 1860, the Union "depends for its continuance on the free consent and will of the sovereign people of each state, and when that consent and will is withdrawn on either part, their Union is gone." The New York Journal of Commerce concurred, writing on Jan. 12, 1861, that a coerced Union changes the nature of government from "a voluntary one, in which the people are sovereigns, to a despotism where one part of the people are slaves." The majority of Northern newspapers agreed.

I guess all those newspapers were run by racists, eh lwm? And only the Saint Lincoln came to save us by scarifying his life. (the cross thing had already been done, but he was in a wooden seat!)

I hold no brief for Lincoln. He fought the Civil War to save the union. But for all those f'ing morons who try to whitewash their ancestors' misdeeds by blaming Lincoln for the Civil War, this is all I have to say ...

He saved his vision of the union, and he sliced and diced the constitution to do it. As any good Republican, the end justified his means --- and he was a racist of first rank.

Oh, and he gave the world the concept of total warfare. You know, where you kill, murder, burn, and otherwise brutalise the women and children. Nice guy, right?

My ancestors? Over in Scotland at the time thinking you yanks were mad as hatters. (we were correct as history proves)

I see you've been called a bigot in under 40 posts! Congrats and welcome to UT! You've arrived.

I was welcomed by Goodcelery! after the first post with a nice little welcome and now I'm [insert slanderous words here]. I guess the Republicans hereabouts just love their dictators. Who knew?

Thank for the kind words Chris --- and GoodCelery! also.

Alexander Hamilton!

Now they go too far!

:-)

I saw your deal about no doctors. What the hell does the medical establishment have to do with a political comments area of Salon? Is it Hillary-care and the contentious primary season?

lwm offers even more factual evidence ... (hehehehe)

And Heruru, I don't worship anyone or anything, but perhaps the objective, unvarnished truth as I understand it, not as you want it to be. I don't even think you are anarchists or individualists. You are just self-absorbed, self-centered and narcissistic. You are mere egoists. -- L.W.M

No, it is pure worship there fellow. You started a big ho-ho and never offered anything to back up your drivel except name-calling and pure assertions. Good job if you are 12.

On the other hand, the smartest 12 year old black girl I ever knew was furious mad after she read about the real Lincoln and realised that yet again whitey had fed her a basketful of lies.

We all know that the Lincoln cult is reduced to calling their own saint a liar; claiming the thousands of horrible quotes are due to him having to lie to get ahead in politics and that is what makes him a great man. Sounds like the current Republican to me.

The words and deeds of the man show a criminal who brought an unnecessary holocaust to this land and destroyed the constitutional Republic in the process. There was not a single reason slavery in America could not be done away with in a peaceful manner just like in other countries around the world at that same time period. Even a twit should be able to see that.

Plus, the fact that a man doing evil might inadvertently produce a good result by accident is not news; nor a justification for evil. You look logic, right?
