Tush view

What photo are you looking at?

If you click on the photo, it brings you to the "name that butt" tush-side view.

Interesting. That's pretty much what I look like from the back, too. Sweet! Does this mean I can brag that I've got a body like JLH?

Why?

no, we also have to marry and/or have kids as well. Why?

Because it's a lonely world, that's why. Because no matter how many hours I put in at my office (which is, by the way, a "job" not a "career") I go home to an empty house, and would rather go home to a house containing a companion of the male variety who would give me a kiss and a squeeze at the end of the day. Kids maybe, but I've never been baby-crazy the way some other women are (good thing, too, since I'm nearly 34 and dateless, never mind husband-less and kid-less). I sure as hell don't find "fulfillment" in my job, I stare at a computer screen all day long and deal with complaints about not being able to get 100% of everything 100% perfect for 100% of the people who all want different things.

I'm sure someone will now chime in with a helpful remark like "you're not a good catch -- just accept it!"

Aaaaand the sex-wars begin

and then, the White Collar guys who were ignored, now get to flaunt their cash at the 20 something-hotties when they're in their late 30s. While...well, see above.

If they're after women who are only interested in their money, then they won't be too surprised to discover their gold-digger du jour getting a leg over the pool-boy in their marriage bed.

karmic justice.

Or a self-fulfilling prophecy.

Is being an garden-variety asshole a "mental illness"?

Since when is being a complete jerk now a diagnosable mental illness? Some people are just assholes, no matter how thin you slice it. I dated one for two years. Nothing was good enough for him, I could never attain the level of perfection he wanted (he actually told that: he said he was so hard on me because "I just want you to be perfect"), he would hurl insults that went straight for the jugular right out of the gate, and I never fought back because I knew that if I dared to speak to him the way he spoke to me, he would unleash cruelty on a scale that I didn't want to experience.

But he's not mentally ill. He's just a spoiled manboy douchebag and a lousy boyfriend. Some people just aren't very nice, when it comes down to it.

And also, Gams on Glass

Gams on Glass' meds have cycled down again and she's gone off the rails. Although I am not a supporter of censorship in forums like these, I really think the editors need to take those "murder" posts out. There are people in the reading public who have had friends and loved ones *actually* murdered by psychotic people, and frankly just seeing the title of her most recent post a few minutes ago made me dizzy from fear. I've seen far less offensive and upsetting posts removed for sometimes purely capricious reasons. I don't understand why those are allowed to stay, when (for example) a post listing 100 slang terms for "vagina" was removed from a letters forum devoted to, of all things, slang terms for "vagina".

Sing it, Brightstar!

Did I ever imagine I would write those words?

what is it about sad, despondent or pissed off women that makes them so damn sexy sounding?

Hahaha! See now, that usually makes men run like hell!

KG, I don't know you from Eve, but treat guys the way you want to be treated. Then they show up on your doorstep like puppies.

I do my best. My last boyfriend told me I was a great girlfriend. He dumped me anyway, but the blame for that was pretty evenly distributed, I think.

Don't make the mistake most women in the US seem to make today, which is to treat men as a separate species, preferably one to exploit. Men are human too

Holla. I've seen the effects of golddigging in my own family, and it's pretty depressing. For what its worth, I'm not the slightest bit interested in wealthy men (badly burned by people who value the trappings of wealth over character), despite the constant prodding of some of my relatives who want me to mingle with some people I don't really know and don't care for what I *do* know of them because "they'll introduce you to some nice attorneys". Yikes! I'll stick with the programmers and math nerds making less than six figures, thanks. I try to treat guys as I find them, although unfortunately doing so seems to result in my being transformed into "nonthreatening female friend" to whom they tell their tales of romantic woe, instead of asking *me* out on a date. Rrrrr.

Is your dad Kilgore Trout?

I don't know, there's something attractive about the notion of spending my retirement engaging hopelessly awful artistic endeavors, thus allowing myself the vanity of believing that I am a genius misunderstood by great unwashed, only to be appreciated after my death.

Roll with it! The questions he asks you are hilarious, you should write essays for each one. Make them really elaborate and wordy, like your most pretentious college-era Shit Crit class.
