Thanks, redfish/bluefish. I can't see the article you linked to and don't feel like signing up for someone else's paper just to see it.

In that case, I have no sympathy for the D.A. at all. If the victim wants to go through the stress of a trial which they might not win, that's up to her - or at the very least, a Grand Jury. Basically, this trial has been held without ever seeing a court, and there's no point in reporting rape, just as the protesters are saying.

Can't imagine the D.A. is thinking this was a very good call, since I suspect her motive was the same motive as any other D.A. has, to keep her conviction rate high and improve her career.
