In lieu of strong support from the Edwards campaign, they should have replaced Ms. Marcotte and Ms. McEwan with a couple of equally feisty, sharp-tongued feminists with partisan sensibilities -- perhaps with less of a literary trail, perhaps not. In any event, surely Mr. Donohue's oeuvre should have been combed.

That was actually the heading of a Salon article that appeared about ten years ago. It reported on the flattening of libido and diminished sexual performance that a number of anti-depressants cause. Also, travel can be mood-brightening, but its felicitous effects are blunted when depression is severe: you can take a nice vacation but you have to bring your miserable self along.
