  • Working Class

[Read the article: Obama and the white working class]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

How on earth do you see Hillary as anything but a corporate player?

You "actually thought the full transcript was much less disturbing than the original snippet"--ya think? You came from working class folks, but you are rising to the top in a corporate world and your bias is not for the working guy, it is for the corporate wing of the Democratic Party.

I give you credit for hiring good reporters like Glen, but your stuff gives me mental whiplash. You should just put up a Hillary bumper sticker and leave it at that. Your picky little opines make it clear you do not see the canyon between Clinton and Obama. We will need someone to lead us out of the money pit that has a strong majority of support and a clear vision of the real problems. For instance the very real bitterness and hopelessness the working class feels about government and law.

[Read the article: Hey, Obama boys: Back off already!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

I am a man. I love my mother and my wife. Neither supports Hillary nor do I. If she were a man I would feel exactly the same way. The constant, "there is really no significant difference in their policies" crap is crap. There is a huge difference. Corporate money. Corporate triangulation. So back off your own silly self. This is not about misogynistic men (and women) or racists or feminists. It is about the war and the economy and the raping of our country by corporations. It is about torture and spying.

It is not about elitism or guns or flag pins.

If you writers would actually address the issues instead of this emotional silliness even 25% of the time we might have a better informed electorate instead of an emotionally charged bunch of flamers. Get real. Glen cannot do it all himself here. I cannot wait until the Joanification of Salon is finally over.

  • Stumble In Your Head

[Read the article: Will Obama's debate stumble hurt him?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

We all see what we want to see I guess. I saw three establishment icons trying their best to embarrass and impugn the only candidate with a chance of taking on the battle to dislodge corporate control of our lives.

Hillary Clinton probably is a "nice" person and which explains why she could not look up or at anyone when she used those "association" questions to make Obama look unpatriotic and corrupt. She was clearly uncomfortable in her performed self-righteousness.

We all talk in our homes about how dangerous it is for Obama; how likely it is for him to be assassinated to stop him. But the real assassination is already well in progress and it has all the power and money and media control it the world to bring down this threat to the growing power consolidation of the Super Rich. It is finally time to see who fits through the eye of a needle.

Why Joan has thrown in with Senator Clinton is unclear. She has all the information the rest of us do here on the web. Maybe she just doesn’t believe Obama is who he says he is. But we have so much proof that Senator Clinton is willing to destroy Obama’s reputation to gain the White House—that she can ignore that and call that “debate” a “stumble” for Obama is mind blowing—But not unexpected.

  • To Kill A Mockingbird

[Read the article: Looking past Pennsylvania]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

"I don't know what you mean by 'glory'," Alice said. Humpty Dumpty smiled contemptuously, "Of course you don't--til I tell you. I meant 'there's a nice knock-down argument for you!'"

But glory doesn't mean 'a nice knock-down argument'" Alice objected.

"When I use a word," Humpty Dumpty said, in a rather scornful tone, "it means what I choose it to mean--neither more nor less."

"The question is," said Alice, "whether you can make words mean so many different things."

"The question is," said Humpty Dumpty, 'which is to be the master--that is all."

  • Its Hard, Hard Work

[Read the article: Brian Williams' "response" to the military analyst story]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Having just come back from "The Daily Nightly" I can report that Brian is taking nothing but hits--his "moderators" must be overwhelmed. These icons just are not ready for millions of informed responses to their iconoclastic worldviews. We are sheep who get all hopped up on Greenwaldesque propaganda, not to be taken seriously. Let us eat Hostess Cup Cakes.

Actually it becomes less and less important that they tell us about their cozy relationships. Now we just assume it is so. The Constitution does not give corporations the rights of citizens; the Supreme Court made it so and keeps it so. So enjoy you penthouse view--the bigger they are.....

  • Here?

[Read the article: Obama is wrong about the gas tax]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Whoda thought the only rational(ization) of Clinton's Big Pander would show up on Salon? How could Joan allow such nonsense on her internets pages?

I am shocked, shocked and awed by her testicular fortitude.

I am looking at the "Most Active Stories" in the left column:

"Hillary Clinton's big, brass....fortitude. She battled Bill O'Reilly (and won) while hammering away on her gas-tax holiday plan, critics be damned."

    and

"The media, the right and 1988: Endless deja vu

Will the tactics that the GOP perfected in 1988, and to which the media is addicted, work again in 2008 to render actual issues yet again irrelevant?"

This is one bizarre bipolar site.

  • I Couldn't Finish

[Read the article: Michael Wolff on sex and the Dems]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

The protective part of my brain would not let me get more than a third of the way through this "?".

I am assuming this is your attempt at marking time hoping not to further PO your readers. You succeeded with me. But it would have been easier to just not write anything--I mean you never write daily anyway, why this?

If Glenn Greenwald ever finds another outlet for his work you will be up your corporate creek without a paddle.

  • You Said It

[Read the article: Things that don't exist in Harry Reid's world]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]

Reid's cloud of emptiness descended on Stewartville and never have I more wanted to punch someone so helpless. Now I can use your reasoned explanation for my rage--it's OK to want to punch an old, politically lobotomized man. After all, it’s just a war. It’s only been five years. There's something about Harry......
