Original article: The Sarah Palin pity party

Reality Bites

Gov. Sarah Palin has proven herself a lightweight in intellectual rigor and honesty. Faking it may get you elected in small and remote places, but it's not good enough if you're going to stand election to be second-in-command for the world's most powerful country. It's obvious Palin belongs back in Alaska, far away from the red phone, the foreign leaders, and the liberal press, including new converts like flaming George Will. Just think of the seven-figure book deals she'll get. And the nice photos to frame from her recent national tour to states I'm sure she has never visited until named VP nominee. Reality bites: Sarah Palin is our newest celebrity, brought to you by the campaign that tried to label Sen. Barack Obama as the shallow same. How ironic. How American.

Original article: How Sarah Palin blew it

Talking head

Spewing drivel to the best of her ability, Gov. Sarah Palin proved that yes, she was once a beauty contest finalist and television sports anchor who somehow rose to governor of a small state.

Thankfully, her truly odd 2008 adventures in America come to an end Nov. 4.

Alaska, please take her back and enjoy her adorably folksy ways. She belongs with you, plain and simple.

Sarah Six-Pack

Just under $294,000 in income? So much for the associations she tries to make with Joe Six-Pack.

Original article: The dumbing down of the GOP

IQ Need Not Apply

Gov. Sarah Palin is a multiple-choice-quiz candidate in a critical-thinking-essay world.

Things are far to complex for Palin to ever:

(a) understand

(b) manage

(c) improve

(d) all of the above

How Christian of the Christians

Interesting how the presidential ticket candidates aligned with the right-wing conservative Christians behave so Christian-like. Love the sinner, not the sin? Yeah, right. Feels more like self-righteous indignation fueled by personal smears against, and veiled hatred of, anyone who doesn't share their beliefs. If anyone thinks Democrats or "liberals" are dangerous to America, please examine the top Republican ticket and the past eight years of a Republican White House, six of which there was a Republican majority in Congress. Somehow we got to this place in history. Is progressive liberalism and the middle class to blame?

Who are the Real Alaskans?

Thank you, Nick Jans, for sharing more of the fascinating history that belongs to your governor who provides a lens through which many of us "down here" in the lower 48 are now seeing your state.

As a member of the left coast elite in San Diego, California (a Republican stronghold, by the way), I am hungry to hear from more Alaskans to better understand your place and its people.

From here, the view of Alaska is that of a dark backwater refuge for extreme beliefs, idealogical paranoia and intellectual bankruptcy wrapped in virtues of frontier spirit, physical vigor and can-do spirit.

Of course, we know this is simplistic and falls short. Your state surely has a vibrant and open environment that encourages dissent and debate?

Alaskans, please continue to speak up and show us who you are.

Palin Site: Only Thing Missing is Robocall Machine

This site is hilarious. Great voice work. A few extra features: Click on the door more than once and see Bambi gunned down. Click on desk and notch several wolf kills. Click on computer monitor for stock market ticker that predicts the world with Palin living in the Oval office. Only thing missing: Robocall Machine.

Brilliant

Maverick. Yeah, right. Where are the Wal-Mart receipts?

Not my friend

Why does this man feel the need to use "my friends" when speaking? Has he not figured it out? About 39-43 percent of the national voting public could be considered one.

Vote

Oh boy, we're scared now. Expect one final mash-up week of all the wonderful "high road" campaign messages from McCain-Palin, the mavericks with bankrupt morals: "Terrorist. Celebrity. Socialist. Liberal. Untested. Unpatriotic. Naive. Dangerous. Communist. Welfare. Destroyer of Freedom." Is there anything else the Republican smear machine can throw into the mix to frighten ignorant and uninformed white voters in rust belt states that, by the way, have been shredded by free-market ideology? No wonder the Obama campaign took out a 30-minute slot this week to broadcast his vision and positions.

No Advice Needed

David Axelrod, his inner team, and the thousands of volunteers on the ground across 50 states don't need any advice at this stage. They'll run hard through Nov. 4. That's what community organizers are trained to do.

And Obama's quarter nephew driving with suspended license....

My, how the Republicans know how to campaign on the issues... Pray tell, what do they stand for besides bigotry, hatred, division and greed?
