Good Humor

I loved his quip about how he had a dozen oysters and only nine worked. They must be a lot of fun to be around.

What gets me

is that the waste of carbon who blew her beautiful face away only got 7 years.

Why are you taking Esquire seriously?

It is like "Cosmopolitan", only for men.

About time

I have filed *multiple* complaints with the FTC and they keep sending me these bland form letters saying there is nothing they can do about it. Call after call after call. But, I'm a nobody. Next time, I will give a politician's number to the spammers, obviously.

Had to reach deep

for the mock outrage, didja?

Who did they ask?

and who funded the survey?

Did they stand outside a Baptist church? In Dayton airport? The queue at Graceland?

Enquiring minds and all....

KOTH

I am a big old greenie and I love King of the Hill, especially the cranky old man with no knees, Dale the exterminator and the completely unintelligible Boomhauer. I hope the Goode Family works out. I know that my behavior runs along some stereotypical lines for liberal and I do have to deal with the paradoxes of trying to be "green", yet needing to use electricity and so on. However, I'd never use bug spray on my compost. Bugs can do whatever they want, as long as they don't hang out in my kitchen.

Why?

Why do people want hairless genitals? Is this some form of suppressed paedophilia? I see young men posting hateful stuff about women who don't shave every millimeter of their bodies (except their scalps). Is there an epidemic of body lice that I don't know about?

Good work, Joan

Just about everyone commenting on HuffPo said you totally pwned the windbag.

False Outrage

Jeez, Laurel, judgmental much?

The real reason these guys shot people?

They're nuts. They just used politics as an excuse for being murderers. If they were apolitical, they'd just be in clocktowers blowing people away willy nilly.

I heard

It has to do with Asian women being less race-oriented in their dating practices. They will date any suitable man, regardless of race. I have heard from some men all sorts of rhapsodic praise for demure Asian women and chuckle heartily because I have lots of Asian women friends who say that those men have NO idea what Asian women are really like. (Human, in other words.)

Its like the lightbulb joke about therapy

Q: How many psychiatrists does it take to change a lightbulb?

A: Only one, but the lightbulb must be willing to make the change.

There are a few things in play. One is that a lot of time has passed and the woman's tastes and desires about her hairstyle have changed. This is good. I know lots of middle aged women with the same hairstyle they had in high school.

Another is that she might not have liked being ordered around about how she looks. I have been with men who tell me how to dress and wear my hair. It makes me really, really not want to do what they are telling me. It puts me in a place where my mother put a bowl on my head and cut my hair so I looked like a button nosed Ringo Starr. Imagine a woman following you around, telling you how to dress.

There is something in animal training where the trainer gets an orca to do backflips for some herring. The trainer did not nag the large mammal or lecture or punish. The trainer gave the orca fish each time it showed behaviors that would lead to the trick. People are the same. If you nag them and tell them what to do, they won't do it. If you see them changing towards something they like (hair getting longer), compliment them. Once. Don't do it over and over again, because it feels like nagging.

The big issue is this: This is ancient history. Let it go. How the lady presents herself to the world is really none of your business. Its not all about you.

The people who use twitter support those who will bring down Ahmadinejad

The real action is everywhere. People all over the world have announced support of Iranians. The Iranians know this. It certainly must give them hope and bolster their courage to know the world is watching. They are, after all, human beings.

Incorrect about Klein

He did not pioneer Botox for wrinkles. Dr. Alastair Carruthers in Vancouver, Canada did. His wife is an eye doctor and used Botox for strabismus. A patient of hers observed that she looked more "relaxed" after the treatments. The two doctors discussed it and it was approved in an experimental way. http://www.abcnews.go.com/Health/Cosmetic/story?id=2003833&page=1

What's really going on

and I applaud it, while laughing, is that the media is turning its immense spotlight on the fringe, encouraging it, fostering it, loving it, and, as a result, the GOP is shattering into tiny fragments. The media is not covering the reasonable and intelligent conservatives who have, you know, reasons to think the way they do. The media are showing only the fruitbats. This is preventing people from signing up for the GOP and is driving others away.

Comedy or Journalism?

At least Colbert and Stewart are comedians, say so and are on the comedy channel. The WaPo is supposed to represent journalism and presents themselves as such. What are they doing presenting a comedy show as journalism?

What's ludicrous

is the complaint that the garment could be dirty. Right. No one ever pees in the pool or spills food on their speedo or has nasty hair gel...
