This is a truly ridiculous and terrible response

Not only is the football analogy inappropriate, but the analogy does not work. Further, the author betrays her religious sentiments in addressing this issue. A glib and trite response, on the whole, and one that actually angers me.

Salon Censorship

Why was my post questioning Mr. Tennis's qualifications and fitness to be an advice columnist deleted? I used no profanity, wrote nothing else inappropriate, I simply did a point by point takedown of the supposed merits of having Mr. Tennis write a column for Slate.

Point of View

Jennifer,

If you had been a professional athlete, you probably would have said that an amateur athlete has no business commenting on the trials and tribulations of sport. I agree with your self-assessment of being a condescending jerk. I would add insufferable to the list, and encourage you to wonder how a Pulitzer prize winner might judge you for your "writing".

Blowhard David Larry Compares Melissa Beech to Norman Mailer, Vladimir Nabokov, and the Recently Passed David Foster Wallace, among others...

Does this bozo realize that he just compared Melissa Beech to Norman Mailer and Beethoven?

------------------------------------

There are various degrees to every profession...

... prostitution is no different.

Literature has Norman Mailer, Vladimir Nabokov, David Foster Wallace... and also Jonathen Franzen, Dan Brown, Tucker Max.

Lawyers have Alexander Hamilton, Clarence Darrow, Glenn Greenwald... and also Mark Geragos, Alberto Gonzales, uh, Eliot Spitzer

Musicians count among their members Ludwig von Beethoven, Maurice Ravel, Jimi Hendrix... and also Poison, Milli Vanilli, and the Backstreet Boys.

And with yer Prostitutes, you have the street-walking crack whores... and also the Melissa Beeches.

@Like Radium

Like Radium,

Is there a reason you can't do a simple Google search before correcting someone? He meant Ted Hagee, whose fame stems in part for his pronouncement of Hurricane Katrina being God's will.

Spend More Time Studying

Can you imagine if the black firefighters had spent all of this time studying for exams instead of whining about unfair outcomes?

Original article: To your health, ladies

Great News?!

I am glad that as a young male that my car insurance premiums will now be reduced as this health care philosophy is extended to the car insurance. Oh, that's now what you meant? I still have to pay a premium for being a male?
