the rest of the world ... forget the imaginary 18 million
[Read the article: The other 18 million]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Canada is not locked into American politics but probably follows it more closely than any demographic in the primaries ... educated interested informed and not related to both Cheney family failed comedians.
Personally i am holding my breath for what Barak could mean. If I never see Lanny Davis on cable again my life will be well served. Did Joan see him on Larry King with the stage being stripped behind him?
I am so disappointed in Joan Walsh. I never took her to be so tone deaf. My proposal of marriage is herby withdrawn ;-p

my first wife
[Read the article: Clinton prepares to concede]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]My first wife is a Hillary supporter but now is willing and happy to vote for Barak. There is the small problem of not being citizens. My parents were born in USA but Lou Dobbs always meets me at the border with pepper spray. What's up with him?
We would both like to know if there is a legal way as Canadians to donate to the Barak campaign. Any ideas there?
My first wife is still my first wife after 38 years but we don't take it for granted. We are charmed by the fist bump of hope that the Obamas slipped in on tuesday and it is now part of our daily greeting over morning coffee or over a glass of fine FRENCH wine after work. It has been a good news week .. the nomination is settled and red wine slows aging ... how great is that?

my opinion
[Read the article: Clinton endorses Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]It's unfortunate that it takes a concession speech to see who was running. If Hillary had run as herself instead of the permutations and combinations that were tried she would likely have won. I don't agree that the woman issue was the killer ... a factor sure ... something else rang false. Barak ... love him or not wore his own skin from start to finish. Hillary should have learned from Al Gore that getting advice from a consultant to wear beige to look more like a beer drinker may be short on laughs .. and Hillary knocking back highballs of Canadian whisky might seem contrived.

mark penn
[Read the article: Clinton endorses Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]From a longer article from Mark Penn:
"And sometimes your opponent just runs a good campaign."

I thought America understood winning.

what seems clear to me
[Read the article: Clinton endorses Obama]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]What seems clear to me is at the beginning all odds were against Barak. If Hillary had won Iowa, she would be president ... no glass ceiling. She lost Iowa but won New Hampshire on the women's vote. She planned to win in Feb 5 but neglected the Caucuses and Barak ended up with more delegates .. then her campaign turned mean.
The real glass ceiling was her own campaign and the very bad luck that Barak decided to jump in "before his time" if it was not for him she would be president ... sure there is sexism ... but I think it misses the point of what happened and I don't think there would be similar noise from Obammadicts if he lost.

facts
[Read the article: Obama's big fat Countrywide mess]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think some facts should overcome the slander in this headline:
Will the campaign do better the next time it gets caught in a toxic housing bust tarpit?
Are there no real reporters left?

there was no there there
[Read the article: Obama's first week, one-on-one with McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Jim Johnson was not really a stumble it was just easier to take a pass and expose the 300 more than Jim that are in the McCain front lines.
I'm curious how you frame it though ... how is the little uppity boy doing now that the more electable candidate is out of the race. I think you should agree that he is winning so far and never mention Clinton again ... it is not helpful. He won end of story.

about Hillary
[Read the article: Obama's first week, one-on-one with McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]From Politico, Barak apparently said this to Hillary in their private meeting:
June 14, 2008
Categories: Barack Obama
Identifying with Hillary
At a Philadelphia fundraiser last night, Obama repeated something he'd told Clinton at their meeting:
"You're the only one who knows what I've gone through and I'm the only one who knows what you've gone through."
Also from the pool report:
He then said it was a "relief" to have Ed Rendell ("a man who has no shortage for words") on his side. "How many cable shows can you be on at one time?" Obama asked Rendell, adding that he is "one of the finest governors in the country."

@Greg Neubeck
[Read the article: Obama's first week, one-on-one with McCain]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]A program which is failing miserably in such Nations as Canada and the United Kingdom. Canada, as just one example, is now experiencing a dramatic shortfall in physicians. What else would you expect from an individual who was reared under Marxist dictum!
Get some facts please! Indeed there is a shortage of doctors on the polar icecap but in the city where I live there are 3 medical clinics within a mile and 3 hospitals within 5. I have a choice of 3 family doctors, 2 specialists on a one day wait or walk in to any of the 3 clinics. The doctors are all in private business but there is only one payer and the cost per capita is 1/3 of the USA cost. We have more doctors per capita than the USA does and they are happy because they always get payed for their work. My specialist sees 15 patients an hour @ $ 200 per. This is after performing serious surgery before.
It is not socialist it is single payer to private practice (business)
