In 1992, Bill Clinton was the aggressor. He threw punches (some low blows) before he was punched. He knew what was coming and didn't wait. Throughout the 90's he put many republicans in body bags. He learned from Dukakis. Carville used to say that it's hard for someone to hit you if you have your fist in their face. But Obama has boxed himself in by saying he's moving beyond that kind of politics.Obama comes from the Muhammad Ali school when it comes to boxing, especially Ali later in his career. Deflect the jabs dodge the hay makers, let your opponent tire and in the late rounds, when he can't raise his arms to punch or defend himself, annihilate him. It's a thing of beauty, if you've never seen Ali employ this technique I suggest you find some video and watch poetry in motion. I guarantee Barack has.
Watching the Cubbies when Harry Caray died and they started hanging ads behind home plate. The lovable losers have pretty much worn out their welcome in my heart. I'll fondly remember Banks, Santo, Williams and warm summer days watching a real team play in the "Friendly Confines". They can name it whatever they want, the thrill is gone.
who has a stronger stomach than I flesh out Mr. Hiatt's position concerning our military adventures in Kosovo and Somalia (I think I can guess). It's just that reading those nutters drivel makes my eyes bleed and my head hurt.
between the haves and the have nots makes a surveillance state all the more necessary as the have nots slowly awaken to how the American Dream is no longer a possibility for them. Monday Night football and NASCAR can only keep the horde distracted for so long. When a bag of Cheetos costs an hours wages and you need financing to watch cable tv the natives will become restless. These surveillance measures are just another wall between the wealthy/powerful and the rest of us.
What's that you say, can't afford to pay $200 a month for cable? Were watching you!
Good Democrat! Roll over! Good! Roll over again! Good! Roll over again! Good!
Now play dead, good! Now stay dead! That's a gooood dog.
interesting to know how much we pay Muqtada al-Sadr to play nice and I wonder just how long it can last. I expect the lid to blow sometime this summer sending Iraq into a bloody spiral downward. McCain and Republicans are praying he can be contained through November, I'll give odds he can't.
another threat from Bin Laden, he's now threatening Europeans. Why do I feel this POS will be busier trying to save his miserable hide if Obama is president than he ever will with a Hillary or McSame presidency?
about these dastardly things Obama has done to Mrs. Clinton. However no one actually can list these atrocities against poor Hillary. I could easily compile a long list of nefarious "tricks" the Clinton campaign have implemented. I won't mention the bald faced lies which should be enough to make most rational people reconsider their support for her.
How is she going to handle McCain in the general? Anytime she goes on the attack he can merely run any one of many videos with her praising his patriotism and readiness to be president That'll be cute won't it?
I'm not sure what you're talking about in reference to Markworthi's post. Surely you didn't read it. Try r-e-a-d-i-n-g first kay?
I believe your theory is correct, I've noticed these same things. We must have forgotten how well the Rethugs trolled during the 2004 elections. They and their master, Rush, are trying to sow chaos.
And old slogan, but worth repeating, "Don't Feed The Trolls". A troll can rightfully be any poster allegedly supporting Hillary.
Sorry true Hillary supporters you need to be on guard and call these masqueraders out.
Saddam is dead or the US could reinstall him. If you don't think the Bushies wish they had this option now, I've got some Iraqi peace and prosperity I'd like to sell. The devil you know, you know.
I can't believe this is the same person I used to love reading for her offbeat and blue take on politics (very critical of Republicans I might add). She's now just another Main Stream Muppet, totally in the tank.
Journalism is hard work, you just don't understand.
of Hillary and McCain and the media to explain to the great unwashed masses just exactly what Barack was saying. Understanding that the rubes have a feeble grasp of the English language they have deigned to interpret his words for them. Barack has made the unpardonable sin, once again, of eloquence.
"What would Reagan do about terrorists"?
Well we know the answer to that don't we? Invade Granada of course.
that have cast their lot with Hillary should be aggrieved with her for dragging this election into the mud and exposing herself as a self aggrandizing harridan. I would love to see a female president, I would go so far as to say in these troubled times in particular we need a female at the helm, it just can't be Clinton. Joan I might have voted for you until you went on this self deluding Hillary campaign.
I didn't take Olbermann's remark in that way at all. I assumed he meant a party elder or heavy weight take her into a room, explain the facts to her and she is reduced to tears as the bearer of bad tidings leaves the room.
But hey, what ever primes your pump. If a fantastic reading of an off the cuff remark is what it takes so be it.
common sense is restored by the letters to this article (screed). I am also saddened that a supposed "liberal" publication would have a person who doesn't understand the history of racial turmoil in this country.
You'll need a crowbar to pry that tongue out of your cheek. LOL
