What is also misleading is that even if your employer doesn't go with the public plan the shrinking pool of insured under most plans will inevitably cause an increase in premiums to all that remain on conventional insurance.
Of course this is what insurance companies fear for good reason. We better hope that the fools in Washington manage to come up with a good comprehensive health care institution for all Americans, instead of the Rube Goldberg plan I fear is in the works, because we will eventually all be stuck with it.
For starters, you have the major media outlets. Is it any wonder that coverage of the election took on the tone of Obama's election being a virtual certainty? In these locations, Obama was running so strong, it was hard for those observing to see how he could lose. John McCain's strength came from locations that generally were not the subject of much attention by the national media.
This is another problem you have, the complaining about a "liberal" media after you've had them in your pocket at least 15 years. No one's buying it anymore, time for a change in fictional furies.
I don't read any of those blogs. Where is Greenwald, Digby and the great bloggers at Firedog Lake?
C'mon, get some real progressive bloggers on your team (they're already there, but you could give them props).
Well, not so much. She's actually the spittin' image of 'ol Ma Cheney. Lynne lies with reckless abandon every breath she takes. That woman actually makes my skin crawl.
to drag birthers into the light of day and dispatch them with a stake through the heart? They should have been allowed to hang around until the 2010 elections giving Democratic candidates more ammunition. Will we ever learn to play the game as well as Republicans?
Unfortunately Keith and MSNBC went into a gun fight with a pocket knife. No one should ever underestimate the fixed news "talent" or their superiors ability to get down in the mud.
It's unfortunate they didn't turn Keith and a well funded staff loose on the "personalities" at Fixed News to, shall we say, profile them.
just had his way with Bill O on hardball asking why he would let his corporate overlords muzzle him. I can't wait for a response from Glenn.
My favorite libruls in a war. Can't we just get along? I'm glad Olbermann is back doing his thing. Glenn I would ask restraint in your crusade, he is on the good side I believe. Let him save face it can't mean that much to you.
at the faces in the videos of these town hells the thing I miss are the faces of African Americans. Their votes propelled Obama into the Oval Office but they seem MIA here.
I always find these discussions illuminating in how they show the mentality of the rich. There are a couple of letters here by people I would consider rich and I would like to ask them a couple of questions;
If your car breaks down are you unable to get to work and your lively hood is threatened? Would that car repair bill send you scrambling to find a way to pay for it that doesn't take food off the table?
This is just one example of the many things that constitute a crisis to the "little people".
If the rich have to pay a few more percentage points in taxes to insure that there gated communities won't be stormed by angry mobs of we little people sick to death of their whining about taxes I'd say it's a fair price.
Just watched him take a question and explain why a single payer system won't work in the US. He says it will be too disruptive.
Someone, anyone, needs to please ask him "disruptive to who"? We know he means it will be the end of health insurance companies as we know them but our president is afraid to articulate this simple fact.
So basically we have to live with substandard to no health care because our leaders don't want to rock the insurance companies boat. Am I wrong about this?
I could only manage the first page of Paglia putrescence but it sounds as if it ends badly...again.
"IF A PUBLIC OPTION WERE GUARANTEED TO REMAIN THAT WAY AND ONLY A SMALL PART OF THE WHOLE SYSTEM, YOU MIGHT HAVE A CHANCE. BUT THAT IS NOT POSSIBLE TO GUARENTEE, SO PUBLIC OPTION IS OFF THE TABLE."
So sayeth the typicalboss.
Tell me who died and made you king?
If upon reading the things Mr. Vick was alleged to do to dogs one can say this man is not damaged in a deep way I would say you too need help.
Has Vick been repaired after a few months in jail and loss of income, I doubt it.
To those saying other players have done worse and were able to play doesn't justify Vick, it just highlights the absurdity of the system.
"Therefore, it is up to the animals that Vick abused to do the forgiving. Sadly, they don't have that opportunity."
The strange and wonderful thing about dogs is their capacity for forgiveness. They would probably come to Vick and ask for his forgiveness for being abused.
of some Democrats is easy to diagnose. The dread of Republicans wailing like banshees loosed from the 5th level of hell has them paralyzed.
You must fear the right wing hissy fit.
