I can imagine those sorts of moments can be kind of scary; when it is still very confusing as to what is going on. I'm sorry we didn't get a picture OF you, but I'm grateful for the one we got from you.
Hey, lateagain, when you get a chance click into the main youtube page for THE CENTER and check out the clips of McCain falling asleep and read what Mortimer Smyth has to say about it. It is one of the most amazing republican spins I've read in a long, long time! It's here:

scroll down to "McCain knows that sleep is important". If you click onto the website for The Center For American Free Thought

I think your question will be answered...
Ok, listen to this song/video and imagine that Joan composed it and then try to tell me that she isn't right on target!

What I'm saying doesn't make sense, but it makes more sense than McCain. I think this song/video says it all.
I wouldn't get dramatic if Obama picked Clark, but it seemed to met that Clark does a fairly awful job speaking and often sets up pointless talking points. Does he poll really well? What is it about him that is so wonderful? I need more research.
I think this Obama bash might be working for him, actually:

yep. it is.
I'll tell you what I really appreciate about this sort of art critique: Ms. Berman never implied that her experience of no longer matching Oberst's music has anything objectively to do with his music or lyrics. You can read such a review and not have to get all stiff, as if his music or her review have anything to do with how things should be. Ms. Berman went through a phase in which his words and music were monumental and now, compared to that time, there really isn't much for her.
I'm 33 and for some reason Oberst's music and lyrics still often touches primal places, places I feel I'm still growing into and towards. And yea, he often reveals very cleanly that he is a kid as well.
I'd love to know who's music right now does speak to the concerns Ms. Berman mentions at the end of her article; paying student loans and such. I know that a lot of 30 year old alt rockers often mention how hard growing up is. But for me I find that Bonnie "prince" Billy gets right at ("married song") and, gulp, Iron and Wine and Ron Sexsmith. Hey, I don't know if writers respond in these columns, but Ms. Berman, I'd love to check out some of the lyrics/music that are profound to you these days.
it must be so hard to come up with something to say about this election when- for whatever reason- you are not inclined to write about the "boring" stuff. Can you imagine what you would say if you were Shapiro and you've been trying to write about the campaigns from a stategic point of view for this long. You constantly are forcing yourself to "know" if X will be dangerous or helpful. And nobody really believes we will ever "know" how to judge anything about X, but you must write about it.
Obama Fatigue. How will we measure this event? How will we know if it is Obama Fatigue, his trip to Europe, his percieved arrogance, his lack of experience, his lack of American Spirit, etc., that is causing him to be NOT WINNING by as much as he (--should--) be winning.
At some point it was "known" that Obama is suppose to be winning this HUGE and now the smart ones need to be scratching their heads as to why the polls shift about.
Shapiro has job and a style, so he is locked into more and more articles in which he feels the need to tell us how everything might be have possible effects on possible perceptions of ambiguous situations. It is a rough job.
But the CFAFT has finally pinpointed what is really dangerous:

If Shapiro and Mr. Smyth would co-write a few articles, I bet we'd have a better grasp on what aspect of Obama is having the most influence on the fact that he may not be winning by the percentage that he was suppose to be by now. We need to nail this down with better science. I think that CFAFT might be the first organization offering us tools to make such assessments...We shall see.
Much of the initial coverage about Fort Hood turned out to be wrong. Is there anything wrong with that?
