Just so you know... (Hillary's Plan)

For those of you tracking my 75 day prediction, I simply want to point out that we are only 4 days away from Clinton's concession speech.

I haven't felt proud of Hillary over the last couple months. More like grossed out. But I think her speech is going to be HUGE and it will mark a massive effort on her part to clean up the mess. Most internal documents (internal to me)seem to indicate that Clinton could only justify her actions (to herself mainly) by knowing in her bones that she would work 299% towards making it clear to her supporters that they MUST vote for Obama.

Clinton is planning to praise Obama more than anybody else we've heard; even more than his greatest supporters. She feels that he deserves our enthusiastic support and that it is her job to clear away any misperceptions she helped create that he is a mediocre option. It seems that Clinton is planning to utterly shock those of her supporters who think it wise to support her by denying Obama the vote.

I think she is going to do an incredible job at this and I doubt there will be a significant number of Clinton fans who will stick to their guns and vote for McCain.

I think that Clinton is going to make an amazing Supreme Court justice and I think that she will be much more effective and happy in that role. She might be the greatest of all time.

@rampart

yea, I think that one could make a reasonable argument that Hillary would be having a harder time in this race if she was a white man who was 5'6". If she was black man of that height, no chance. But if Hillary was a a 6'2" man without her current past or a few of her tendencies, I could see that she might very well be winning.

I don't think Obama would be winning as a short white man either.

@ShawnWM

I never said anything about Clinton and all that stuff about frogs. I had a pet frog, but that in no way implies that you couldn't find a way to spend your time that reveals less lonliness. I'm sorry you had to experience that, but please know that we all felt it first before we sent it. This was hers before he got bad at the last song.

@dterrydraw

If Obama was an actual baby, he'd lose. Instead, he banks on his tall body and his demandingly sexy voice. Sometimes I can tell that he can tell that I can tell he really is talking to me alone.

I would respectfully make love to Clinton, but only if she were a tall black man.

This is a DIFFICULT primary and we haven't even started healing the party towards victory. What if we don't heal in time? It will be the somewhat black man's fault, won't it? Oh God, if he loses than the short lady should say, "I told you so." But if she were taller and male she'd say it in a deeper voice like, "I TOLD YOU SO!" Her voice would thunder and demand respect, like Dennis Kucinich.

@ ljwalker53 (information is power)

You hate Barack Obama and all he represents. You want things to get better and you care about getting the right people in office. It seems that there are not enough people who know all the things you know and that must be frustrating and scary. Your post ended with a list of words about Obama. You don't like Obama and you know we are in big trouble.

@Xrandadu Hutman (logic)

@Shiral & (What Obama is doing WRONG)

Do you guys want to see proof that Obama is not doing his job, not reaching out and arrogantly condecending Hillary supporters?

That lady wouldn't be saying that if Obama just tried a little bit to be nice and fair...uggg....the average Obama supporter probably sees that woman as some kind of reflection of how HIllary has run her campaign. They are fairly awful. We need them to stop being how they are so we can START healing what has happened to Hillary and her supporters. They have been patiently waiting, but not for much longer, I'm afraid....

Shiral, you made me laugh hard with:

"Of course, there appear to be those on this board who will show up at President Obama's Inauguration still madly screaming that "he's unelectable!" and will probably complain that everyone else is there only because "they drank the kool-aid." And Joan Walsh will write about "Obama's parking/crowd control/popularity problem."

It's true. Actually, I bet after a month of massively unfair news coverage on Obama, Joan won't be able to help herself but recognize that this goes way, way, way beyond his weaknesses and all the other things that dissapoint her about him and his worst supporters. And not to minimize the massive issues of racisim and sexism, but this goes even deeper than those two subjects. I think.

Yea, my prediction that Hillary will turn things around on June 5th is based on the senerio in which she goes forward as one of the most popular politicians of all time and an incredible supreme court justice. However, if she wants to she can make this about a completely different story.

@Thadeus Crub

You make great points. Part of my fantasy is a function of my feeling that an Obama/Clinton ticket would not serve either of them. But since there has to be wheeling and dealing, I'm trying to think of what kinds of offers Clinton would find intriquing. Supreme Court came up.

But I overstated it in my attempt to paint a picture of the kind of "healing" that might begin on June 5th if she does what I think she is getting ready to do...
