between the casual data collection being done on everyone (that can be mined retrospectively any-ol-time) and the wage/debt slavery and health-insurance-coverage indentured misery... I'm not at all sure "we" are much of a threat ...
add in all the War-on-Drugs/War-on-Terror/NSA machinery ... taking names ... they can pretty well know where we are, were and will be ... if they want to ... the key word "ENOUGH" ...
or maybe not.
I suspect the translation services today are even more backlogged than they were on 09/11 or 09/10 or 09/12/2001 -- y'know?
I did learn as a child ... the FBI used to come by to say "hi" to my mom periodically ... that even then the resources brought to bear on even minor targets, like my mom and our machinist friend, boggled the mind. The idea that they would spend that amount of time and money harrassing both -- loud talkers, minor players -- continues to amaze me (both long dead) ... but also, the simple pettiness of it all ...
first, I think enough time has elapsed for a reconsideration of "The One Minute Manager" which contains a number of Cary's suggestions about provided lots of feedback, short and sweet, personalized but not BFF person
The other is a behavior modification "classic" called "Don't Shoot the Dog" which is as much about training yourself to stop reinforcing behaviors you loathe as it is to training others to CUT IT OUT.... and how to identify and prioritize steps in that process.
Fifteen people is a lot of people to try to "herd" .... but likely (given your apparent distaste for them) they are STARVING for attention, acknowledgement, rewards and some SMILES ... START SMILING ...
Oh, rewarding cooperative behavior and those who model it is a good place to start ...
Good luck. Remind yourself that your job as a manager, aside from making sure the work gets done and your boss/peers are happy, is to be FAIR ... and, with many many employees, being popular is off the table... people's "problems with authority" being all too real.
bombastic diatribe equivalents ....
it's like kids ... I'm angry ... well, I'm angrier than you are ...no I'm more angry than that ... or so-and-so is a jerk ... no, they're worse than that .... no, they're even worse than that ... endlessly
It's all part of the circle-jerk self-reinforcing (masturbatory) quality of these "outraged citizens" and... unfortunately such outrage-hyperbole-inflation tend to occurs whenever these boogieman stereotypes replace genuine individual human beings.
so they get few complaints ...
I certainly don't know what their criteria for "fighting back" is ... but I would imagine that they respond when sufficient numbers complain ... sorta like complaint to sponsors.
I can't remember the last time I watched Fox News ... even when I meant to because someone I wanted to see was guesting ... it's a cess pool, imho.
If/when such language appears in "sane" media outlets and is taken seriously and not vigorously refuted by panel participants ...
I hope they respond, but I doubt whatever their response, it will be "accepted" with anything beyond scoffing and ridicule by most here ... the jury made up its mind long ago.
anyhow... no complaints, no action.
reclaiming that which had been "unjustly" taken/destroyed in WWI ...

The policies pursued by Nazi Germany were, based on the concept of Lebensraum; "Aryan" racial purity; anti-Semitism; revenge for Germany's territorial losses at the Treaty of Versailles and the perceived loss of pride because of it; and anti-communism directed at the Soviet Union were among the leading causes of the Second World War[citation needed] and the Nazi regime's systematic mass murder of millions of Jews, political opponents, and other minorities in the genocide known as the Holocaust or Shoah.
Exceptionalism ... revenge ...
This is what makes me very nervous about the future of the United States and what feels to me like a fairly broad-based undercurrent of rage if/when our economy goes south on top of our recent major humiliations -- 09/11, Iraq, Katrina.
I was appalled by the naked nationalism on display at 09/11 ... a "great depression" and/or another major terrorist strike, I fear could be followed by no-holds-barred aggression against all "enemies," foreign and domestic.
I really don't trust the American population to stay sane ... particularly with so many mainstream extremist voices ...
they were scary m-f's.
I'm so dysplexic I really can't say as if it was "freudian" or just a typo ... cheers!
is kinda right up there with telling the NAACP what they SHOULD be focusing on... like rap lyrics ... might as well go teach your grandmother how to suck eggs.
I though Glenn telegraphed his agenda clearly ... I thought their response was polite and professional ... I have no idea if the ADL is engaging in "selective enforcement" or "selective outrage" ... but this was very much, imho, a "when did you stop beating your wife" set up ...
The problem with "dogs that don't bark in the night" scenarios -- which are the basis of any number of 09/11 theories -- is that it's very very difficult to prove why something DIDN'T happen. It's hard enough determining WHAT DID HAPPEN and how and why ...
It may be that the ADL's outrage is "biased"... however, it is then worth determining if this is intentional, much less a matter of "policy" ...
The next step, of course is to request that 2-inch file and get media matters to monitor ALL telecasts and to set up a band of keyboard activists to complain regularly to the ADL ...
if anyone cares ENOUGH ... doubtful.
