Pro Sex
[Read the article: A salve for women's sex drive]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Why is it that the only issue feminists and women in general ever seem interested in is sex? Of course there isn't anything wrong with hyper-sexuality but it does seem that too much sex-on-the-brain precludes other thought patterns from being developed. It is about time that grown adults have some interests besides a puberty like fascination with sex. If your sex drive is low maybe it just means you should be composing an opera or getting to those unwashed dishes. It is absurd to think that there is a correct level of sexual arousal -does anyone think Hilary Clinton would be a viable candidate for President if all her speeches went, "Sex, sex, that's fascinating, I want more, give me more."? Sex is way overblown, intimacy and true love are way underrated. If you want to have a healthy sex drive try living a healthy life, that means stop replacing love with lust and stop dreaming of a bigger cock when the Sun comes up again. There are three reasons for having sex: 1) to procreate, 2) to feel pleasure and 3) to communicate in another language with another being. This so-called salve for women is only about option 2, and unfortunately that is the option that is dominate in too many minds. Option 3 is by far the most interesting of the aforementioned options, so someone should work on a magic skin suit that translates body waves into a comprehensible code. Oh just fuck it (seriously, let's not get too intellectual here, all we're talking about is getting off).

Sarcasm Made Real
[Read the article: Study: College girls boozier and sluttier than ever]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I have to hand it to you Tracy, you take sarcastic sassiness to a truly elegant level. In essense you Tracy simply reject any inference of female slutiness, which is fine because slut is such a nasty term. However maybe we could just drop our genders for a moment and examine the lifestyles of college age people. Here we shall find a definate carnality, especially in college-party-America. Indeed college-party-America is primarily a carnal affair, men and women included. Yes, in this college-party-America there are many a slut. And it isn't any surprise alcohol and sexy costumes are involved -surely Tracy you'd agree, surely you like I have been to college-party-America-parties. No use denying it, men and women are more free than ever to get wasted and behave like idiots -indeed a woman wearing a sexy genii costume is not immune from being an idiot.
It is time we faced facts: Men AND Women are dogs; yes! extremely driven by sexual desires. If the word slut is not appropriate then lets have a different description, regardless we still need some signifier. I suppose if we can't find an appropriate term through our biases we'll just have to resort to our same old gender-defense-mechanisms, eh Tracy?

Bias
[Read the article: Stay classy, John Edwards ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]If you are a woman, sound like a woman or stand up for everything written by the writer of the day in Broadsheet you get a star. What ever happened to being Beings with unfettered ideas as opposed to tragically boring stereotypes? I am happy that Traister is literate but her ideas are notoriously awful. There was a headline awhile back in the Onion that pretty mush summed up everything that is written for Broadsheet, it is: "Women Now Take Pride In Everything A Woman Does".
(And yes that is a fettered idea, but this is Salon: Salon, a good place to know with near certainty what each of the staff writers will write pertaining to a certain topic before they even write it. Well actually that pretty much pertains to the entire media, and a good deal of automatic- thinking, boring Humans as well).

Told You
[Read the article: Stay classy, John Edwards ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Example: cordelia525 (star). I am also glad that cordelia525 is literate just like Traister, though neither is particularly articulate.
By-the-by, trying to talk sense to Traister is a losing cause. You just know she becomes more self-righteous every time we object to her narrow perception. If I, a man, criticize anything she thinks she says to her girlfriends glibly, "See, I told you they were all ass holes. Follow me into oblivion girls!"

Give Me A Star Goddesses
[Read the article: Stay classy, John Edwards ]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Example: juliebird (star). I can't even finish writing a post before another star is given to someone who applauds Traister without hesitation. Let me try: "Traister is a Goddess. Traister is MY Goddess." (Star)?

Abortions For All (I mean only for women)
[Read the article: It's my abortion, too!]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]From the article, "...seems to border on narcissism." More than enough of that to go around Catherine. If a couple has a baby together they have a baby together, if she has an abortion.... well i guess you're saying she's on her own. So men shouldn't be emotionally detached, but of course men should be emotionally detached.
I agree that Jesus doesn't need to be brought into it because Jesus isn't real, but of course emotions and babies are, which means ripples are rippling. Even though you say you believe men have emotions Catherine it is hard to believe you really believe so based on your sarcastic tone. There are ripples Catherine, everyone feels them. The ripples bring us together; sex is a ripple, abortions are a ripple, sarcasm is a ripple.
Let's say it again: 'Men shouldn't be emotionally detached, but of course men should be emotionally detached.' What is more amazing is how emotionally detached you seem to be with regards to the uterus, Catherine. If you really love your uterus and other's uteruses maybe it would be okay to suggest that sticking blades up there isn't the best idea ever. Oh yeah, and wear a condom, or don't have sex with creeps just to add another chapter to the book of exciting promiscuous adventures.
Reading Broadsheet is like getting a trapped in a one-dimensional world; truly not broad-minded at all.
