Goldberg is Low-Hanging Fruit

Goldberg is an idiot as he himself points out.

On the other hand, Mr.Greenwald, your erudition is most effective when you parse partisan chatter with substantive concepts. Today, there were several items that were far more worthy of your persistence and consistency.

For instance, overly generous lending practices at FannieMae and FreddieMac have been mentioned repeatedly by the rightwingers as the cause of the credit crisis, similar to the way in which they attempted to use the CRA (Community Reinvestment Act) as a reason for problems in the late last century. It seems that the right wing finds a problem and then links a policy, rightly or wrongly, in huge and complex gyration, tying contemporary problems to Democrats.

This demagoguery of lies is anathema to judge, logician, scientist, theologian, trial attorney (you can easily add any reality-based tradesman or shoemaker and my bookmaker!) alike, and it is so awful and out of bounds - LIES, Mr.Greenwald!!! - Can you please stick to shaming them with the awfulness and stupidity of their LIES!!!

What makes it really risky and sociopathic is that it is project-designed to fuel race-based bigotry! They like living on the edge these sociopaths like McCain/Palin, and it's so un-Christian.!

The only tradesman who benefits from this perversion of truth, this utter destruction of simple, basic, human truth is the politician!!!

Goldberg is a first degree nutcase, and going after him is simply an unfair match for you.

Goldberg's razor...

Next thing you know, post-election, some pundit or idiot-savant, maybe Goldberg, (though he obviously needs no encouragement) will posit the rubric that Obama couldn't have won without the reluctance of the fourth estate and that Katie Couric's softball interviews with Palin actually helped McCain by providing proof of CBS's media bias against the McCain/Palin ticket. Thus, had it gone on any longer, with yet more idiocy spewed from Palin, well, then, Obama would have surely lost!!

So what we on the left see plainly as the traditional media's failure to parse fact from lies actually enabled Obama's victory. swell

That's funny ...by the standards of the Mad Hatter, it's funny. To me, it just makes journalists dumb and dumber. Where is journalism today? Maybe I could get a job at FOX. Those people are obviously too stupid to realize when their memes are being subverted. Rupert must be at the bottom of the barrel by now.

Sling more over the top shit Ruppert - higher! higher!!!

Excellent insight, as always, Glenn!

But it is of small comfort to those of us who have watched in horror over the past two years while cowardly Pelosi, Reid and Hoyer promulgated renewal of the Patriot Act, drill here drill now, several Iraq War budget resolutions, allowed FISA to be expanded - and subpoena power has been completely ignored. Impeachment? It was always a mere fantasy....and our Democrats have merely toyed with us while they have built more prisons than ever before.

Nothing, in fact nor act for two solid years, was done to advance against the ripping tide of neoconservative imperatives as stated in their 1997 PNAC treatise, to a point now where our last shred of prosperity is being toted off by the barrel to the very patricians and the greedy barons who have been on watch during the past eight years. The bailout is their payday!

They will get their wish to shrink government so small that it may be drowned in Grover Norquist's bathtub. But if the occasion arises, I will personally take the opportunity to metaphorically drown him and his adherents in it as well. They richly deserve the torture treatment they imposed on the innocent victims of their thuggery in Iraq and Afghanistan. I have lost much of the tolerance and humility I once valued. Thank you, Colin Powell, now go away in shame and leave us your Wilkerson.

It will be wonderful to see the evolution of the next eight to sixteen years of progressivist expansion and a repudiation of the enabling crowd of creeps like Pelosi, Reid, Hoyer who have been doing nothing more than playing kabuki theater while the tide of public opinion has been marching leftward.

To be precise, it will be ecstatic to help to perfect Obama in a new cooperative world order. It will be very rich indeed to see economic recovery and prosperous expansion at the expense of the defense indusrial complex budget and the loyal American patricians and oligarchs who would remain here to rebuild our economy.

I look forward to positive proof of the complete intellectual bankruptcy of idiots like Bill Kristol, Charles Krauthammer and the New Republic-Council on Foreign Relations-Trilateral Commission crowd ...perhaps the dissolution and demise of the Manhattan and American Enterprise Institutes. I am of the opinion that these people and their institutions have contributed absolutely nothing in the way of progress and have merely grabbed money and property for the wealthiest classes across the world. They are tools. True Progressives are never tools.

Chris Hedges says there are none left to help recreate our American scene at an institutional level. I am not so pessimistic when I read your criticisms. Please keep up the good work!

What does it take for R's to admit they were so wrong !!?

Evidence for Lieberman's removal from his chairmanship and the Senate Democratic caucus is complete.

At what point can one say that Lieberman is actually a Republican?

I assume that Reid has whipped up the votes

to drive us liberals wild again, thereby proving that the election victory was an illusion, while real Democrats can remain shadow actors in a kabuki play. If the country goes further down the drain because of their farcical bi-partisanship, they will continue to be held in disrepute.
