Is it embarrassing to admit that I read this entire piece? I can't help but be fascinated and mesmerized that a person could be so completely clueless and utterly irrelevant. It's just incredible how shameless he is! I think most people can tell when they're making fools out of themselves and decide to keep quiet, and if they don't, they're usually at the least standing up for something they believe in. What does "K-Fed" believe in? That he's "real" and that he's going to "push units"? All you can do is shake your head and say "wow".
Mr. Trump is acting about as mature as his "totally rad" nickname would suggest.
How many millions of people watched the super bowl? And an ad touting a previously unknown website promising riches got 10,000 more hits? I don't think anyone that can be surprised by this is an expert at ANYTHING.
Are they the best band in the world? There's no such thing! I love this band enough to ask the question though. But it's rhetorical!
Dude, they're not that good. :)
"You're saying that we have to understand context.
I think we do. You were saying that some people believe faith has nothing to do with history. The fact is, somebody wrote those texts. They wrote them in a world in which slavery was taken for granted. That's a different world. So if we don't understand that, well, it says, Slaves, obey your masters, for this is right. "
Context? How can this be taken seriously? She's right, somebody wrote those texts. What else needs to be said about it? I see this bizarre behavior all the time. The rational part of a person's brain will speak up, and then the fantasy-land religious part of the brain will answer with some other excuse.
Because of stupid shit like this, that's why. The guy made an offensive joke. The PC police were notified, a huge deal was made out of it, and for what? Why is everyone always for free speech until something is said that they disagree with? I don't know who to be angry at! Some guy on the radio makes a racist, offensive joke. Well, it's racist and offensive to some people at least. Maybe even most. Maybe even all! Why don't these people just turn the station, and problem solved! I guess that would be too easy. It's so much better to say "This guy is saying stuff that I don't like. Instead of not listening to him, I want to make sure NO ONE listens to him!" It's a disgusting attitude. Remember, it was a bad joke. Anyone could have made the mistake, we all do stuff like that from time to time. Don't we?
I'll do it! Consider this my application. I have absolutely no experience. I have no professional qualifications. I'm addicted to the internet. As for salary, I'll settle for 20k a year.
So far several arguments and positions have been put forth, most of them agreeing that something is very wrong with these people. Another person said that by justifying this act as a victimless one, necrophilia could likewise be justified. What is the consensus then? That these people are sick? And if these people are sick, why isn't the same standard applied to homosexuals? I realize the gut-reaction here is to leap to the defense of the homosexuals, but I'm not attacking them. I'm asking what the standard of mental/sexual health is and who sets it.
I don't understand the outcry "We're killing ourselves with eating!" So what? It sounds like an individual problem to me; if you're fat and you want to change it go ahead and do so. But who cares if other people are? They'll just die soon enough and the eyesore will be removed.
I still feel a little bit bad for HillDog. Here's a woman who has played the game correctly and done all the things she was supposed to do to become the first female president. It's unfortunate for her that people are sick of people playing the game and sick of the game in general, and that there is reason to believe that Obama can win and some real change just might be coming.
I'm sure 9/11 did have an effect on the production of this movie. That is, everyone was instantly educated on 9/11 as to what effects a collapsing building would produce in NYC. To have collapsing buildings NOT look like that would be what, willful ignorance for the sake of some weird sentimentality for the horrors of that day? I haven't seen the movie and normally this critic is spot on, but I don't like this review.
My first thoughts upon reading the headline were the same as most of the letter writers before me. Who the fuck cares about Israel, shouldn't we be asking who's best for the U.S? I wish Salon would publish an enlightening article on why Israel matters to us, because I'm sure that articles like this one aren't written for absolutely no reason.
It's ok to laugh if you find such things funny. Don't force it if it's not your brand of humor. Let common sense and your own morality decide what is appropriate and what is not. I have liberal values through and through, but I think part of the reason many Americans do not share these values might be because of PC over-reactions. And PETA, and vegans, and other morons like them. Sometimes us libs and dems just go "full-retard", unfortunately.
Just say you're into it 5 seconds into the date. That way the man can get up and leave.
Alternate strategy: Ask the man if he hates himself. If he says no, you can get up and leave.
