It is no small source of continuing amazement...

... that these wording insertions are written about in the passive voice.

"An amendment was inserted into the bill at administration insistence" raises two red flags. Who the heck inserted the amendment, and the/this/our administration continues in the Bush mode of unilateral governing (with the same congressional bender overers).

If it is mandatory yet no one does prosecute, who has status

or jurisdiction to bring an action in front of a court, any court? Are municipalities able to prosecute if they can find some causal link between Bush's torture policies and some local effect?

The problem is probably more endemic in MSM.

Halliburton stock (HAL) went from $7/share in 2002 to $40/share in 2006. There has never been a disclosure of which reporters owned that stock. Is the pro-war, media-driven pump and dump related?

HAL is an exaggerated case, but the defense sector has outperformed the S&P, 113% to -3.5% since 2000.
