Interesting, this is just like an ongoing discussion being hosted by the great sydicated sex columnist Dan Savage, in finer alternative publications nation wide. I decided not to post a link due to the fact that it is a serious adult discussion of sex, but i highly recommend seeking it out. Most of the points here have already been made there. There is an initial column and two follow ups. The thrust of the discussion: withholding sex is a form of emotional violence. Very heated letters on that topic, as we have seen here.
...that makes people try to predict the outcome of games in the first place? Why should I care whether my favorite sports writer can predict the outcome of a game, or every game? I honestly don't think I see the same thing in other sports. Perhaps MLB and NBA play way too many games overall to get bogged down in this sort of thing, but is there something particular to football that forces a sportswriter to predict the outcome of every single game in the league every time a game is played? Or that obligates them to actually be good at it?
Yes, I realize that King (and other writers) always preview NBA, NHL, March Madness and MLB series, and usually make a call on who is more likely to win, but I think it's qualitatively different. It's more from an analysis perspective than strictly a win/loss scorecard.
What's the obsession here? I just don't get it. Seems like a waste of a Friday column.

ps i hate football, but I hate to miss a KK column.
Seriously, does Steve Nash cut his own hair or what?
This is good news and the right thing to do. I hope many more stations follow suit; the only way to combat this garbage is to turn your back on it and ignore completely. Happily my local station, Fox 12 Oregon, will not be airing the program. First time I ever had occaision to send a TV station a thank you note!
