Right ! Andrew...Beware the OFC.
[Read the article: Neuroeconomists tackle the irrational]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I do not comprehend application of the law as legal system to your 'neuro-economics' but...
It is easy to begin to see how intrusive 'advertising' technology - specifically targeted - might be used.
Has to do with ALL of the wonderful imaging
(not just fMRI, but voxel-imaging, transcranial magnetic wiping, PET scan etc.)
going on, what neuro-science is really doing and the getting-awfully-obsolete lie detector.
You may NEVER 'successfully' lie again. Dear- me-!
How you will Want or Decide may well be, probably will be knowable, manipulable.
At the end of EVERY technical release on this stuff is blurb on how knowing all these terrific things will benefit z condition and y malaise... all kind of suspiciously disclaimer`ish.
And those benefits may well accrue - but I bet the investigators are far more interested in how or what we think and learn and then...decide....or not.
I know I am.
But our current inquisitory...
-and I really love knowing that the orbito-frontal cortex is involved as kind of red, yellow and green traffic robot in making 'marginal' decisions;
-and I love knowing that the amygdala is involved both in certain kinds of fear AND cerebral 'examination' for recognition/understanding of faces.
...leaves scary dystopian visions stealin' floater-like just out the corner o' me eye.
So where one goes with all this can get very Science-Fiction`y.
I don't know any better clarion than
Gibson's 'Neuromancer'.

Givin' her a walk....?
[Read the article: Sandra Day O'Connor: Why I left the Supreme Court]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I've read that she has been quoted as saying she quit while she could still be assured NOT to be replaced in a Dem admin...
Now that's all pretty soft....as information goes.
She has all the money in the world...easy full time nannies for husb....So circumstances don't fly.
That's a bit firmer for ...actual fact.
I'd love to get all THAT sorted out.
In the meantime, I don't trust this story from a source I usually do trust.

Fascinating!...Almost a reprise of the anti-Dean orchestration
[Read the article: Edwards campaign fires bloggers]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Kos, NYT...apparently progressive but...
Here they go again....concerted
The 'paper-of-record' is even on record as
terrified of John's 'hard swerve to the left'
Edwards must just scare the pants off them.
-
Image is huge...in perception, 'learning' and decision
[Read the article: Ultrasound controversy]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The neuro-sci gals and guys got that one pegged.
But I do love your 'voice' here....
"I am heartlessly in favor of abortions..." "....cute attributes of their soon-to-be-terminated spawn.".
Lost still in admiration, whilst too cowardly to emulate, I do predict that..He intoned,"There will be blowback here."
Your point though is a great one. Let them see.
Something like...'a heart convinced against its will remains one unconvince'd still"...like that.
'No harm, no foul' and no regrets.

I really don't get it.
[Read the article: Michael Gordon, the administration's best friend at the Times]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Been a NYT reader and sometime...fan for quite a while.
But falling, as we speak, ..or being thrust away from believing ANYthing published there.
So they are water carriers for an incompetent and corrupt Bush Administration...but why?
Is all of MSM now so Corporate as to have actually forgotten journalism...and us folks out here?
But if they've not forgotten...they're liars
And that seriously sux.
Or is AIPAC embedded in the NYT?
Or....?
Tell me.
In the meantime...love Glenn Greenwald.
Acquainted through Daou Report days...in the day.
Be Welcome Sir.

Never ever ran across 'poochika power'....
[Read the article: The "hoohaa" monologues]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And wondered how it related to another mystery word
(for me, at least)...'poontang'.
They both start 'poo.....'
[No, I'm NOT goin' there!]
So I googled it and here....
"vagina synonyms
vagina, pussy, bearded clam, vertical smile, beaver, cunt, trim, hair pie, bearded ax wound, tuna taco, fur burger, cooch, cooter, punani, snatch, twat, lovebox, box, poontang, cookie....."
Found thus that my two words were simple synonyms.
But , this page [I left all the rest of it off]
goes to about a gazillion terms for vagina.
Let me ask..WHY do do we perambulate so around this
'vagina'-thing...word?
Is that a patriarchal thing or do we have just as many
words skirting around 'penis'?
[Didn't look that up...afraid, probably]
Anybody know? Sexual-linguistics stuff?
-
Now where DID I put that Zai-hole?
[Read the article: The return of the zai hole]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Good! on you, M. Leonard...
Wondered where I' read about them.
Musta bin here.
And missed them in the NYT piece...otherwise quite good
I must say [in the face of an otherwise increasing personal suspicion about that paper].
Dug 6 last year. So early days...and I missed the 'planting' part.
Reckoned that windblown seeds would do the trick.
Not...perhaps.
Anyway THNX for the followup.
-
But see.....
[Read the article: Trading in the boyfriend for a "filler boy"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Shortbus'?
-
All the 'al-Qud's invoke the 'el-Quaeda's
[Read the article: Those Iranian weapons, or follow the bouncing ball]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That language is to conflate the two.
[In spite of that one's Sunni, t'other Shi'ite}
Do we know here that they're doing that
kind of dodge?
-
Maybe the 'botched joke' wasn't so far off...
[Read the article: Need more recruits for Iraq? Take more criminals]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]After all.
Forgot the exact words but we knew even then that
recruitment standards were tanking.
Somebody pull up the precise language...fits.
Kerry for President!...after all.
-
Prime Time!
[Read the article: Why I had to quit the John Edwards campaign]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Well..
It' where one is going, you see.
Can't at all be helped, I fear.
Inexorable, actually.
This irresistible 'A'-Woman.
Damn!..She's gone again.
-
WHO? is Donegal
[Read the article: Giving carrion-eaters a bad name]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]You've the wherewithal to uncover that.
Publish it from hell to back.
Then the masses would have names, atleast.
We'd know where these thugs live...so to speak.
Or not..as in, they know where YOU live.
Maybe it's come to that.
-
Ever more angry and afraid...
[Read the article: Debate with Frank Gaffney]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]The trapped rat lashes out.
Be careful, Glenn....
Such creatures are dangerous.
We have one too in the White House who is utterly so.
-
Thanks, Gary...
[Read the article: Is there life after Bush?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]That was sweet and...true
Nice
-
Cliff is also often on CNN...
[Read the article: On the difference between "before" and "after"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]...pontificating.
Usually unopposed.
Love that 'Fair and Balanced' we get from the MSM.
-
Please clarify...
[Read the article: More on Walter Reed]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Joan...
There are charges out there that...
[Is the?] VA is involved in this fiasco.
Walter Reed is an active Army hospital isn't it and
Not part of the Veteran's Administration?
-
Bizarre movie...
[Read the article: My breast roommate]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]And then there's the one about the...
On SHO-time recently, can't think title, full of fantastical critters many of whom are fed (fetish-wise)
breast milk..directly [if you know what I mean] by a
very pretty youngster, girl -- about 20 Y.O.
Weird...but then I'm [really?] old-fashioned.
