Pmorlan @ 2:07.
Were you the guy with Firedoglake? Jane was eating off everyones plate. Or were you the one who spilt sour cream all over the floor, and started cussing as Glenn was speaking.
Glenn drank six bottles of prune juice. Let's hope he's okay. He was turning brown.

GoodCelery, GoodCelery... wow...how many times has Rush told you to stay out of his drug stash. You know if he sees what you've been posting here he's going to know. You better give him back what you haven't already used so that he can get through his comedy routine today. Um mm mmm.
In the Clinton/Obama debate on ABC last night we got a ringside seat to watch what Glenn so accurately describes as the media parrotting the "shallow story lines" that the right-wing needs to win elections. Let's hope the outrage and scorn leveled upon ABC last night by their viewers over the inane content of the first hour of the debate will not disipate but will pick up speed and consume all those in the media who would dare to repeat what ABC did last night. But let's not leave it to chance, let's make sure that all of us encourage our fellow political junkies to make their voices hear loud and clear that we will no longer sit quietly while the media manipulates the coverage of this campaign.
While I agree with Glenn that Yoo should not be singled out to take the entire fall for the rest of the criminals in the Bush administration who approved torture I do think that because he provided them with the "legal" underpinnings for torture that he does merit particular scorn. Without the aid of Yoo or someone like him to give the illusion of legal cover for toture I doubt the others (except maybe the bloodthirsty Cheney and Addington) would have acquiesced to authorize torture. For all of this to work they had to have a Yoo who was willing to twist the law to fit into their goal to torture. And as a member of the bar Yoo's training should have served as a firewall to prevent torture not make it possible. So, in my opinion the lawyers involved in authorizing torture merit even more condemnation than the others because by their training they more than the others should have known that what was planned was illegal. A person like Powell may have known in his heart that torture was wrong but he did not know by his profession that it was wrong. Yoo's profession made him and the other lawyers uniquely aware that torture was wrong and when they failed to convey that knowledge they enabled the others to hide behind the defense that they thought it was legal.
I checked out Ms. McArdle's piece at the Atlantic. Wow, talk about self-inflicted wounds! Unbelievable!
After reading her comments it brought to my mind a cartoon I'd seen as a child. In the cartoon the not so bright character wears a contraption that allows the wearer to pull a lever which causes a boot attached to the lever to kick them in the rear. Now whenever I see Ms. McArdle's name I will forever picture her willingly pulling that lever causing herself to be kicked by that boot over and over.
I don't know what I'd do without your column Glenn. Once again you hit the nail on the head. I just posted a comment about the WaPo's Yoo memo editorial letting the WaPo know that they are partners in crime with this administration because of all the cheerleading they have done throughout the years and that they need to take steps to get on the right side of history. I also sent an email to CNN yesterday chastising them for not even covering the Yoo memo. I did both of these things out of sheer frustration for the lack of seriousness exhibited by our current media.
I'd love to see a new TV channel where real news is actually covered instead of the BS stories that the current channels serve up to the public. Because the new channel would be alone in covering real news they would probably make huge profits!
Glenn, thanks for posting this piece about the Time article. It really burns me up when I see articles like Calabresi's. I sent the following to the Time editor:
I'd like to know where Mr. Calabresi is getting his "facts" about Americans not caring about the Bush Administration's warrantless spying and other abuses because it's utter hogwash. We care very deeply about these abuses and most of us are very frustrated that people in the media like Mr. Calabresi write articles defending this administration and try to pretend that the public doesn't care about the abuses.
In case Mr. Calabresi hasn't noticed voters are coming out in record numbers in the primary because they can't wait to get rid of our current president and his lawless administration. We only wish that Congress would do it's duty and impeach both Bush & Cheney now so that we can be rid of them even sooner.
And once they're gone maybe then we can focus on getting rid of the many sychopant's in the media who have abdicated their responsibilities to properly inform the public.
What our government is doing is nothing short of pre-mediated murder. If there is any justice Bush, Cheney and all their henchmen will die from the same type of slow, painful death that they have condemned Ms. Gorman's client to suffer. Their callous disregard for human life is absolutely infuriating. Bush and Cheney should have both been impeached years ago for their crimes against humanity and only a cowardly Congress has kept them in power to ruin more lives.
