Mustang Sally

Since I read that post I can't get the Mustang Sally lyrics out of my mind.

Mustang Sally, now baby

Guess you better slow that Mustang down

You’ve been running all over town

Ooh, I guess you gotta put your flat feet on the ground

Sing it, too long time, girls

All you wanna do is ride around Sally (ride, Sally, ride)

All you wanna do is ride around Sally (ride, Sally, ride)

All you wanna do is ride around Sally (ride, Sally, ride)

All you wanna do is ride around Sally (ride, Sally, ride), tell you One of these early mornings

I’m gonna be wiping those weeping eyes, yeah, alright

@ lawrence sanders

Which of my posts are you objecting to Mr. Sanders?

Saturday, April 4, 2009 09:43 AM

@lawrence sanders

My post about Mustang Sally had nothing to do with the politics of the poster it only had to do with the name "Sally". I just posted a fact statement that I couldn't get this song out of my head after reading the post. Lighten up, it's Saturday!

@Titonwan

Hi yourself! I haven't been on that website lately - So many websites - so little time! LOL

I have, though, continued to correspond with that fellow at the John Birch Society. We've been sending each other links to various pieces about the torture issue. I really think we need to cultivate more relationships with people we don't agree with on other issues so that we can work together on issues where we do agree (e.g. Strange Bedfellows). Let's face it, our "rulers" on both sides of the aisle are screwing us so it just makes sense to join together to resist them.

@DonMidwest

Good suggestion. I'd love to support the premium Salon but I'm currently unemployed with no spare dinero. I'm just happy I still have access to the internet. I cut back on the food I eat just so that I can make sure that I can still have access to my "brain food".

@Meanwhile, Back at the Ranch...

LOL. I use that expression all the time.

@ondelette

Excellent! One of the reasons these people have been able to steal from us all of these years, aside from the complicity of others, is the fact that they deliberately use obfuscation to make everyone else believe that this stuff is over our heads. You're right - we need to start calling them on it!

@pieceofcake

Things have gotten so crazy that nothing would surprise me anymore. I used to think that all of the right-wing conspiracy stuff was ridiculous but now you almost have to look at it just to separate the true wackadoodles from the people who might just be onto something. A lot of times they get some of the information right but then they put a right-wing spin on it because of their political leanings (much the same as what some on the left do). The hard part is filtering out the political posturing to get at possible strands of truth.

@cross1242

I read Media Matters occasionally but I found during the Democratic primaries that they have their own political agenda and don't always question things that need to be questioned.

Mustang Sally

When someone named Sally posted earlier in this thread I made the comment that I couldn't get the song "Mustang Sally" out of my head. A few moments ago I kept hearing music coming from somewhere. I couldn't figure out where it was coming from. It was REALLY loud so I opened the back door to see if I could tell who was playing this music. It turns out the Nursing home next door has some kind of a band playing for the Seniors. Right about the time I popped my head out the door they started playing "Mustang Sally". I kid you not. LOL

@Kitt

Exactly! What are the odds of that happening! LOL

Calling All Lawyers

Glenn and any other lawyers on this site - I just ran across this post on DU.

How About A Big Cup Of "CHILL THE FUCK OUT" Regarding Ongoing DOJ Court Cases

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x8328844

I'd like to get your view on this post because I'm not a lawyer so I don't know if this is BS or if there is some small kernal of truth in what this person is saying.

@DCLaw1

Thanks for taking the time to explain. I sort of thought that was the case.

Bi-partisan Obama

The fact that Holder and Obama apparently agree with the Bushies on State Secrets makes me also believe that the spin put out that it was the Republicans who were responsible for holding up the Dawn Johnsen nomination appears all the more unbelievable than it already did. I say we have a bi-partisan effort to prevent Johnsen from being confirmed and perhaps a bi-partisan effort to keep those memos secret. This is all about coverup and not about transparency. The Dawn Johnsen nomination may have been a ruse all along designed to make us think that they wanted transparency when the facts show that they don't. Looks like Obama's multi-level chess game that his fanatical supporters use as an excuse for his behavior may actually be true only it's being used against us, not for us.

The terror of a parent

"But as a parent, I can also imagine the terror I would feel if one of my family members were rounded up in the middle of the night and sent to Guantanamo without even getting one chance to ask why they were being held and being able to prove their innocence." - Barack Obama

He doesn't even have to imagine the terror anymore, he can read it in the letter that a father, who's son was rounded up and sent to Bagram, wrote to him.
