This story broke on August 1 and yet the MSM has still not delved into the background of the one witness who accused Mr. Ivin's of being mentally unbalanced, WHY NOT? Almost everyone who has read the media accounts has commented that Ms. Duley's story seemed suspicious yet no MSM journalist bothers to dig deeper? That in and of itself is highly suspicious. The media has also provided no corroboration for this person's account. They've also not provided any information on the psychiatrist Dr. Irwin. Why not? They didn't even tell us that they tried to contact Dr. Irwin to get a statement. The more we learn about this the more bizarre the story becomes.
I agree. I'd too would like to know how Duley ended up "counseling" Ivins. Was it his choice or was this woman forced upon him and hence his anger at her for what he perceived as her willingness to help set him up. I also want more info on the mysterious Dr. Irwin who gave out confidential patient info to this social worker.
CNN shows banner at the bottom of their update on the anthrax case.
Ivan's therapist says she was "scared to death of him"
They also use this one: Ivin's therapist says he was a sociopathic, homicidal killer
What they do not report in their update is ANY information on the person who makes these accusations.
"Mr. Ross is now the sixth reporter to have been ordered to give up sources to assist with a civil lawsuit brought by a former Army scientist, Steven Hatfill, whom the government named as a "person of interest" in the investigation into the deadly anthrax mailings."
Maybe this is why the government settled the case with Mr. Hatfill? Maybe they didn't want to have the sources revealed?
After reading another article about the anthrax case on the Frederick News Post website I decided to call the newspaper and thank them for the great coverage they have provided. The woman I first spoke with transferred me to the city editor because she said they have been getting a lot of heat for their stories and that he'd be pleased to hear my comments. When I spoke with him he thanked me and told me that they had gotten a lot of criticism for their stories. I told him their paper was running rings around the national press by reporting on background information about the only person to accuse Ivin's of being a nut case and that people on the internet were linking to their stories. I hope everyone will register at the Frederick News and start leaving comments on their stories so that they know that they are making a difference and will continue to report.
I thought this was interesting in this Frederick News Post story.

"Arthur O. Anderson, a medical doctor and scientist at the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Infectious Disease at Fort Detrick, said Duley's description of Ivins doesn't match his impressions of a man with whom he worked for many years."

As a health care professional and bioethicist -- he heads USAMRIID's Office of Human Use and Ethics -- Anderson said he takes issue with what he views as Duley's professional betrayal of Ivins.
"I can tell you very clearly that the minute a conflict of interest occurs in the caregiver-client relationship É she has to withdraw as the caregiver," he said. "She can't ethically continue to gather information or share information -- betray that trust -- without disclosing to her client that she is sharing what he believes is confidential, privileged information."
Anderson said that if he was to betray a patient's trust in such a manner, he would be subject to medical disciplinary procedures.
In commenting about remarks made by Duley when she applied to the District Court of Maryland for a Peace Order, Anderson said he was amazed that a judge would allow hearsay to be entered on the record.
Duley referred to comments allegedly made by Ivins' psychiatrist about Ivins' homicidal and sociopathic tendencies, without confirmation to the court that the doctor actually made the comments.
"The remaining allegations about murderous ideas and plans sound so foreign to me that in the absence of contemporaneously documented evidence I would have to consider them items of Ms. Duley's vivid imagination or information fed to her by the people she communicated with outside the therapeutic environment," Anderson wrote in an e-mail to the News-Post. "It is not at all surprising to me that a patient whose therapist is serving as a double agent 'therapist' and 'accuser' would become very angry with the therapist and might make some rather dramatic expressions of that anger."
