Drawing the circle to a close

We know that BB is not well. We, as readers, do not know how much he has to struggle just to draw those lines and write those words.

He's trying to tell us, as gently as possible, that he's not going to keep doing this for much longer.

This is a long good bye.

It's been a nice ride, BB. Take care and thanks for the memories.

We all have to close our circles someday. Let him do his.

Fantastic reply

For once, I actually applaud Cary's advice.

It was totally on the mark, and the LW should cut it out, tape to his bathroom mirror and read it every single day while he's looking in the mirror wondering why N left him.

Narcissists love only themselves. They want everyone else to reflect their own self-worth.

The best part is that his lover discovered that she was nothing more than a dim reflection of his obsession with himself.

Indeed-if only one part of it should be read, it is the very last sentence:

"She's gone. She's gone and it's over. What you are left with is yourself."

Hope you like yourself enough to be alone for a very long time.

No more bail outs

This issue was in the background all the time while the media were having a field day with Palin and whoever they like to cover.

It's been going on for about a year now, and it's becoming obvious.

It was helped along by the media touting all the new bells and whistles of financial packages. Pushing "everyone should own a home", and the banks giving loans to everyone regardless of their income or credit rating.

Then the tide turns and the big boys are drowning of their own greed.

The Fed is wisely not bailing every single firm out. They've chewed off enough debt for a while.

It's about time this happened. It's going to get far worse. I've written about this before, and I'll say it again:

The worst is yet to come. We've not even come close to the bottom of this nightmare.

The truth about Sarah Palin

She's everyone's hockey mom, who was the star cheerleader in high school, and married her high school steady.

She's ambitious, vicious and dumber than a door knob. Has no intellectual abilities except that of knowing what it takes to look good: lots of lipstick.

It doesn't take brains to fill out a swim suit. She was in the Miss Alaska contest, for heaven's sake! How many brain cells does it take to do that?

No, not qualified by a long shot, unless you're an unlucky moose.

Keep her back in Alaska. They need her there. She's smarter than some of the polar bears.

I have a theory, though about how she got to be picked-Ted Stevens was one of her mentors-he's under indictment now-and her being picked was sort of political pay off. I can't understand how it could have happened otherwise.

McCain can't be that stupid-but he can be that cynical and self-serving.

The breaking point

Cary's right.

The man you call your husband is turning you into his own little "Stepford Wife" and calling the shots. He did this by his smiles, his charm, and the promises of eventual payoff..someday. When does that day come for you? Perhaps (probably) never.

Take the day back for yourself and free your soul, before he takes what little is left.

He can have what you leave behind: memories.

The "C" word

When will we be able to call this market "correction" a Crash?

The only difference between this market and the one in '29 is that one took longer to go down-and it wasn't electronic.

The pain is still real, though.

Just wonder how low it will really go-4000? That was back in the good old days..about 20 years ago.

Gotta go buy me a big old mattress too-looks like I'm going to need it.

He doesn't owe you a thing!

So you're related to someone rich. Get over it. He probably doesn't even realize you exist, or if he does, he doesn't care if you do.

Hitting him up for money will confirm his worst fears-that nobody wants to know him for being him..just his money.

He earned this money. You didn't earn the right to demand an "accounting" of it from him by virtue of being related to him.

Get a job. Go earn your own billion. Stop dreaming of being in the will.

In short, tough luck. I hope he sends you packing with that kind of note, too. I certainly would. You didn't earn the right to be a relative-you got lucky in the family tree.

BTW-note my name. No, I am not in the family will, nor does my husband's family expect a damned thing from the rich Hiltons.

Now grow up and get a life!

"Good Night"

"Juliet:

'Tis almost morning, I would have thee gone—

And yet no farther than a wan-ton's bird,

That lets it hop a little from his hand,

Like a poor prisoner in his twisted gyves,

And with a silken thread plucks it back again,

So loving-jealous of his liberty.

Romeo:

I would I were thy bird.

Juliet:

Sweet, so would I,

Yet I should kill thee with much cherishing.

Good night, good night! Parting is such sweet sorrow,

That I shall say good night till it be morrow." [Exit above]

What a cheap ending

Ok, enough with the advertising of the Humane Society.

This is the cheapest shot ever-to link to another page to make us wait until whenever you choose to give us the ending.

Ok-that's it. I'm officially done caring.

Opus is gone, long live Opus.
