3.16

So that guy with the rainbow wig who somehow got a seat right behind home plate for every big televised ball game of the 70s and 80s and held up the sign that said "3:16"...

He was just there to remind the umps of the fan interference rule??

(Of course, that was before he planned to assassinate both G.H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton during the 1992 campaign, and was captured holding a hotel maid hostage in Los Angeles that same year, for which he's now serving 3 [three!] life sentences. But that doesn't affect the ruling on the interference plays.)

Crenelated???

King:

I think of the brain as this great, big, crenelated library with many rooms...

Dictionary.com:

cren·el·at·ed [kren-l-ey-tid]

–adjective

furnished with crenelations, as a parapet or molding, in the manner of a battlement.

Me:

Crenelations are the openings cut into the top of a castle wall, giving it its classic up-and-down profile. Weapons could be fired from the crenelations (aka crenels), while the wall sections separating them gave shelter.

What this has to do with the brain, or a library with many rooms, escapes me.

She was close

Jane Harman said "I think it is tragic that a lot of our capability is now across the pages of the newspapers."

She meant "culpability."

"Democrats have gotten halfway into bed with Wall Street."

Halfway?

Really?

Maybe the Democrats are technical virgins — but close only counts in horseshoes. Or Monica Lewinsky.

There are few parts of the Democratic body politic that are not already getting screwed by Wall Street... and they're always looking to penetrate new markets.

The modem of understanding

Thomas Friedman's complaint about the internet: there should be a disclaimer with every modem sold.

Can we infer that the Mustache of Understanding is connecting to the web at 56k? (Unless he's still at 28.8, or 14.4...)

No wonder he's always a few Friedman units behind reality.

Mailer & Breslin

My second election as a child voter was the New York Democratic primary in 1969, when Mailer ran for Mayor of New York, with Jimmy Breslin as his running mate for President of the City Council. Mailer and Breslin treated the election as the media circus it was, making their campaign into a strange kind of performance art. They proposed that New York City secede from New York State and become the 51st state. Breslin said that the city would naturally keep the name New York, and the rest of the state could be named after the biggest city — Buffalo.

They never had a chance, and finished fourth to that great statesman Mario Procaccino, who predictably lost to the incumbent John Lindsay.

My first vote the year before had been, with gritted teeth, for Hubert Humphrey, who we ended up with instead of McCarthy and of course Bobby Kennedy, not to mention Pigasus. That one didn't go so well. This time, it felt great to vote for Mailer and Breslin just because they were the coolest candidates, and still are.

Original article: Lou Dobbs for president!

Why I didn't flag the "Fuck You Conason" post above...

I'm 100% against censorship, so I wouldn't want to see it taken down... But ranting about it, that's different.

No problem with the usual fucking shit, as your correspondent would say. No problem at all with name-calling (I think I'll do it myself!) from this stinking pool of diarrhea who calls himself Goldsilverplatinumbergsteinmen.

Now there's your problem. I guess that's supposed to be a hilarious anti-semitic joke, from the same shit-for-brains who throws in "Zionist masters" and throws an elbow to Israel to make sure we get it.

Safe to say this particular unfucking prick thinks that the Regular Folks (like him) are under attack by the Others. It would also be irresponsible not to speculate that he hates not only Jews (that's me!) but people with darker skin than his own filthy pink flab, and while he's at it, lighter people too (no albino-fascist state!). Then you have your gays, urbanites, academics, intellectuals, LIBERALS, and of course anybody who's not from the greatest sinless christian country on earth! And did I mention women?

Your brain-dead slime mold of a correspondent may well be in one or of those categories, but that won't stop him from hating them, because he's on his own list. He's a self-loathing anti-Jew!

And why shouldn't he be, this anti-semitic, anti-immigrationist, anti-integrationist, Mexican-scapegoating, fascist (in the actual sense) pile of feces?

One could further speculate that this Hitler-loving creep is a hateful, detestable, abhorrent, repulsive, odious, repugnant, repellent, disgusting, revolting, sickening, abominable, despicable, contemptible, reprehensible, execrable, damnable; vile, horrible, hideous, nasty, obnoxious, gross, foul excretion of excrement.

Not speculation: he's also WRONG. About EVERYTHING. Just like that similarly self-deluded, gas-inflated, beachball-shaped dimwit with whom he shares SO many adjectives... his role model and fantasy sex partner... the next President-Never, Lou (the Blob) Dobbs!

What a couple of morans.
