No Nose is Good Gnus!

I don't know what you know

but I do know that you don't know

what "we" knows about Steyn.

Anon

If you knew Steynie,

Like I knew Steynie,

Oh, Oh, Oh,

What a Gal!

Don't make me...

When people read the written word they invariably intone the writing in various ways

Anon

Yes, Anon, but some of us can read without moving our lips.

Now come on, you must have a name you're proud of, with mad rhetorical and reasoning skills such as you posess? What is it, friend, please tell us. Or are you the same Anon that Bartlett's likes to quote so much?

Is This Simply the Latest Outrage?

That's because I long ago figured out that the Sufi/Quaker connection was part of a continuum of ecstatic religious fervor.

LWM

Now you go too far, good sir. I beg you to remember that Nixon was a Quaker, and moderate your ire. Don't ire until you see the wites of their eyes, is my advice. It is.

On the bench.

If Glenn writes enough and we sit on the sidelines long enough,

adnoto

You have to be patient and pratice hard, and maybe the coach will put you in.

@RMP

of which Audrey Hepburn would have been proud.

RMP

Although I would never, as a matter of course, dare to challenge your knowledge concerning the fair sex and their sartorial selections, it's hard for me to imagine Audrey Hepburn wearing fishnet stockings.

Do you have a cite, or a link?

@ cocktailhag

Or, as I like to say: They're not eavesdropping to see what you are doing wrong, they are much more afraid of what you are doing right!

Isoscelesise with that sleaze? Not likely!

So I doubt, should Mr. Obama fulfill my hopes and the hopes of many voters and become President, I don't see him doing any triangulating with the conservatives or the right. They are gonna find no-point, no-how, no-time, to intersect with Obama, at any angle.

And if he doesn't clean out every vestige of the neo-cons, theo-cons, con artists and the Confederacy out of the Federal government, he won't survive politically.

We are talking about a government which, constituted as it was and still is, was unable or unwilling to do anything after Saddam's WMD turned out not to exist. Let's see Obama bi-partisan with those guys.

Why he wants this burden I really can't know, but for Hilary I think truly moving away from the Bush administrations debacles and the conservative rot which afflicts the government generally will be an option. For Obama there will be no choice. If he does not reduce or eliminate them, they will eliminate him, at least politically.

@Get Real

No wonder you don't use a "handle". And it's too bad, I'm sure your sister would love to know your opinion of her. I can't remember when I've seen anything half so classy.

@ WT-Biblical Ejaculations

In the sweat of thy brow shalt though eat bread.

Or, as Kelly Bundy, who might well be talking about Hillary Clinton, once said: "I earn a living by the sweat of my bra!"

Gosh, if only Al Bundy would run. Peg Bundy would be the best First Lady ever!

How Ridiculous?

46 years later and it's the same ridiculous propaganda,

Electrolite

Except the Soviet Union had a huge battle tested Army, a world ranging surface and undersea navy, and could build and guide inter-continental missles armed with nuclear bombs. They had a large, politically disciplined population, and every natural resource they might need, under their control. All spread out in a huge land mass which even gave them an edge at surviving a nuclear strike.

Had they been our best friend, prudence would still have dictated keeping very good track of them, and taking their capabiolities into consideration when apraising whether our forces were adequate.

Compared to that, being afraid of anything out of Iraq or Iran or Syria is more than ridiculous- it's shameful.

All of this fear, including a completely redundant and completely corrupt and completely new Federal Agency- "Homeland Security" is being generated to avoid facing one simple fact: 9-11 was not indicative of a lack of security resources it was the result of Bush's destructive meddling in the security apparatus, a profound failure of what probably would have worked if Bush and his pals had left it alone.

BTW- what about Homeland Security? Look, I don't want to make invidious comparisons to certain other famous organisations whose loyalty to their country was compromised, but those guys in Homeland Security know two things- their job depends on there always being a high level of fear, and George Bush created their job, and it just may disappear with him. That is a bad combonation. Oh, and did I mention they are immune to all conventional oversight?

I hope not!

I'm a firm believer that schools need to begin teaching kids how to watch television or process media in the same manner they teach them to read or write

Androgyne

Mr. Androgyne, I have some bad news for you...

@Conservativeslayer

Why did the marines allow the embassy to be attacked?

Okay, I'm no expert, but I think the security of the embassy is the host coutry's responsibility. The guards would intervene (probably by taking everybody to a safer place) if life is threatened, I presume. Even then, it's the host country which has the responsibility to protect our diplomats as far as a safe place, leaving the country and stuff.
