Republican Ties to White Surpremist and Domestic Terrorist (Part II)

How how about John McCain's and the Republican parties racist ties to Surpremist, terrorist, and Segregationist:

continue:

(6) During the 1990s, while he served as chairman of the International Republican Institute (IRI), McCain distributed several grants to the Palestinian research center co-founded by Khalidi, including one worth half a million dollars.

A 1998 tax filing for the McCain-led group shows a $448,873 grant to Khalidi's Center for Palestine Research and Studies for work in the West Bank. (See grant number 5180, "West Bank: CPRS" on page 14).

The relationship extends back as far as 1993, when John McCain joined IRI as chairman in January. Foreign Affairs noted in September of that year that IRI had helped fund several extensive studies in Palestine run by Khalidi's group, including over 30 public opinion polls and a study of "sociopolitical attitudes."

(7) Licoln Strategy Group and Nathan Sproul: According to campaign finance records, a joint committee of the McCain-Palin campaign, the RNC and the the California Republican Party, made a $175,000 payment to the group Lincoln Strategy in June for purposes of "registering voters." The managing partner of that firm is Nathan Sproul, a renowned GOP operative who has been investigated on multiple occasions for suppressing Democratic voter turnout, throwing away registration forms and even spearheading efforts to get Ralph Nader on ballots to hinder the Democratic ticket.

(8) Paul Schenck militant anti-abortion activist: Schenck was meeting privately with Senator McCain. In fact, he received a VIP pass to the event in which McCain named Palin as his running mate and he met privately with each of them as well.

(9) Oregon Citizen Alliance, ultra-far-right group: In 1993 McCain spoke at a fundraiser where maylin Shannon (A McCain delegate for this year) praised a woman who had shot a doctor who worked at an abortion clinic - a woman to who the sentencing judge later saidm, "You are a terrorist."

A year later, McCain followed this support of militant anti-choice extremism by voting against the Freedom to Acces to Clicic Entrace Act (FACE). FACE makes it a crime to forcibly interfere with women's access to reproductive-heath facilities. Instead, McCain voted to allow people who harass women seeking healthcare, vandalize health click property and violently attack clinic workers to avoid paying legal finds by declaring bankruptcy.

(10) Raffaello Follieri -- Convicted Felon: In late August, 2006, McCain celebrated his 70th birthday aboard a yacht, the Celine Ashley, rented by A-list con man Raffaello Follieri. Follieri, who posed as Vatican chief financial officer in order to win friends and investments, pleaded guilty in a Manhattan district court to conspiracy to commit wire fraud, eight counts of wire fraud and five counts of money laundering. As part of the plea, Follieri admitted to misappropriating at least $2.4 million of investor money and redirecting it to foreign personal bank accounts that were disguised as business accounts.

(11) Charles Black -- Lobbyist for Dictators: Charlie Black, McCain's campaign chairman, ran a lobbying firm that represented brutal dictators like Ferdinand Marcos in the Philippines and Mobutu Sese Seko in Zaire -- along with terrorist rebel Jonas Savimbi in Angola. Together, these men have been responsible for massive human suffering.

(12) Republican Sentator Strom Thurmond -- Admitted Racist and Segregationist: He also ran for the Presidency of the United States in 1948 as the segregationist States Rights Democratic Party ("Dixiecrat") candidate, receiving 2.4% of the popular vote and 39 electoral votes. He conducted the longest filibuster ever by a U.S. Senator in opposition to the Civil Rights Act of 1957. He later moderated his position on race, but continued to defend his early segregationist campaigns. Staunch segregationist Strom Thurmond championed segregation and opposed every step toward integration. He spearheaded the Southern Manifesto, a major onslaught by most of the southern senators and congress members in 1957. Throughout his public and political life, Thurmond was a Southern politician whose policies supported white supremacy.

(13) Republican Sentator Jesse Helms -- Admitted Racist and Segregationist: Helms was an outspoken conservative who opposed many progressive policies during his 29 years as a Sentator regarding race such as school integration, the Civil Rights Acts and the Voting Rights Act. Helms also reminded voters that he tried, with a 16-day filibuster, to stop the Senate from approving a national holiday to honor black civil-rights leader, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Helms called the Civil Rights Act of 1964 "the single most dangerous piece of legislation ever introduced in the Congress."

Helms opposed busing, supported the "racist apartheid regime of South Africa", and "for years blocked attempts by President Bill Clinton to appoint a Black judge to the Fourth U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals".

In 1996 the US Justice department admonished Helms' campaign for civil rights violations, "after it mailed 125,000 fliers to heavily African-American precincts warning that voters risked imprisonment if they cast ballots.

Helms once referred to the University of North Carolina (UNC) as the "University of Negroes and Communists." (Charleston Gazette, 9/15/95).
