Thank you Allie,
[Read the article: District attorney won't take gang rape case]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]For you clear distinction between name calling and the word troll which indicates the behavior of trolling.
I now think I have hit upon a useful thought: Are people who defend sociopathic behavior sociopathizing? That would combine the word sociopath with the word sympathize to indicate people in the process of sympathizing with sociopaths.
I recall that once I was at another website forum when the term pedophile came up. To my amazement lots of the men on the forum defended pedophiles by saying that it was perfectly natural for grown men to be sexually attracted to 14 year old girls and thus they were able to sympathize with pedophiles.
I found that an absolutely amazing leap. I can actually imagine killing pedophiles; however, by no stretch of the imagination would I think it is okay to actually do so.
Now we have people in this thread who think that statuatory rape laws are some sort of strange and inappropriate protection of underage "women." At that forum I mentioned, I got the strangest PM from a guy who was enraged that a disgusting old feminist such as I would want to prevent a fifteen year old girl from exploring her sexuality with a disgusting old pederast like himself.

Anonymous, if I want to read the PP thread, I will do so and I will post in that thread.
[Read the article: District attorney won't take gang rape case]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]This is this thread, and it is about, specifically, the likely gang rape of an underage woman at a frat house. More wide-rangingly, this thread is about gang rape or rape in general. It is not about PP and abortion.

Hillary and her October 2002 vote on the Iraq War Resolution
[Read the article: Will the real Hillary please stand up?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]Hillary has repeatedly said that she was extensively briefed on the National Intelligence Estimate but did not actually read the whole thing.
I wonder if people have considered that all former presidents may have information that is not generally available to senators. Consider this from wiki: "Former Presidents are entitled to receive the PDB, if they so desire, only after the sitting President actually receives his daily briefing."
Whatever the Clinton's marital problems, they have always been joined at the hip in matters of politics and policy. If briefed by her husband, Hillary would have been very well briefed-indeed.
PDB stands for President's Daily Briefing.

Wanting to hear "I love you" and needing to hear "I love you" are not the same.
[Read the article: It has been 10 months and he still won't say "I love you"]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I would not stay long in a serious relationship where a man could not say "I love you." That is because I think I am worth loving and also worth those words which express love.
I get what the LW is saying about being a theater major. She is saying that she is one way and she fears her athlete boyfriend is another sort of way. Reading between the lines, I think she fears that they are incompatible.
Crying in front of him may or may not be manipulative. It may just mean that she is twenty and sees herself as a dramatic sort. It may just mean that she is genuinely hurt that he cannot say those words. Let us hope it does not mean she is going to go through life whimpering for what she wants. Big girls state their needs up front. They something along the lines of "If you love me, I want to hear it. If you don't, I intend to leave."
Long ago I read a book about different "love styles." I suspect that whether or not people are ultimately compatible depends upon how closely these styles match. Pop psychology to be sure, but this is also the conventional wisdom. The most successful couples I know have much in common, including the way they express themselves about love.
As someone to whom words mean much, to whom the power of expression and the appreciation of the written and spoken word is almost a religion, I don't need someone who doesn't get that part of me. I want someone who is good with words. If he can think of different ways to say "I love you," all the better.

To syrimne1:
[Read the article: Will the real Hillary please stand up?]
[Read more letters about this article: Here]I think you have overstated your case. It is simply not true that no one likes Senator Clinton. Many people like her. I even know a couple in California who like her.
I live in Texas in the middle of a very conservative, religious right sort of town. Even I have met people who confess to liking her.
However, if likability alone gets one elected to the presidency, I invite you to ponder the case of Richard Nixon, a rather unlikeable fellow even before Watergate and even before his election. True, it is troubling to have to cite Nixon, yet by many standards, he had a successful presidency. He was an incredibly intelligent and capable man.
In the same era there was Hubert Humphrey. You are probably likely to say "Hubert who?"
Precisely my point. Hubert was quite likable.
More important than liking a candidate is whether or not the voters will respect a candidate and trust a candidate. I think you may find that even people who do not necessarily like Hillary can come to respect her.
Consider the argument that she is in control of her emotions, even cold. Now think of the last six something years with the chimp. No one has ever called him emotionally controlled. To watch his face is to view a thousand microexpressions in a short period of time.
Now consider the truth. If Hillary were a man and we said he was in command his emotions, we would all be saying "Bravo!" Emotional control would be looked upon as a strength rather than a weakness.
Being in control of her emotions thus far in the campaign is serving Hillary well. In debate, there is never a single misstep. It will be interesting to see how far her discipline and preparedness can take her. If she were to end up running against a hot-head like Gulliani, I think she would get the better of him.
