I am not opposed to Obama. I am simply undecided. It seems to me that this early in the game, undecided may simply be an intelligent position. You may disagree. If you have any rearing at all, you will try to do it respectfully. However, your claim that everyone who disagrees with you "drank the koolaid" is hardly going to win anyone over. It is also has little verbal capital.
I used to work on a ranch. I worked sheep and cattle, herding them across rather rugged country that always seemed very hot, very cold, or very windy. I castrated calves. I trained working dogs. I encountered rattlesnakes and angry bulls. I fell off my horse less often than the guy who got the paycheck. Of course, my horse was a bit less high-powered. I never did get any good at roping. When I got home, I cooked.
My title was wife. Does that mean I gained no experience? Hardly.
After all I have encountered in life, your claim that I "drank the koolaid" is not likely to daunt me or persuade me.
If your goal is to alienate the older female vote for Obama, keep going. Be as insulting as you like. Lots of us older women vote.
When you tout Obama's experience, you are actually touting a weakness. Why don't you play up his strong points, like his logic, his intellect, his vision and his verbal ability -- which is so in contrast to the current occupant of the White House.
Perhaps verbal ability is not your strong suit.
They are a business refusing to stock a product. They may be on the borderline with their claim that the pill is "dangerous," but all too many drugs have dangerous side effects, some much worse that the pill.
What I hope the people of Great Falls who are prochoice will remember is that, in addition to not filling other prescriptions at the this pharmacy, if they do not go there the pharmacy will not profit from selling the myriad of other things that are not drugs: cosmetics, tampons, tissues, razors, greeting cards, and so on.
People could also do a bit of doctor shopping and find out what doctors are calling in prescriptions to that pharmacy or recommending it. I see the potential for lots of interesting activism.
Just pointing out that some pharmacists are starting to do this raises women's awareness that we must be vigilant about our right to reproductive freedom.
No one can respond accurately to your question unless you first define what is a drug in your opinion.
In my opinion, alcohol and nicotine are both drugs. They effect the brain. Adderall, Paxil and other such pharmaceuticals affect the brain. Coffee, chocolate, black tea, white tea, rooibos, and herbal teas all affect the brain.
L-tyrosine, GABA, valerian, 5-HTP, and fish oil, all supplements you can buy at any health food store, affect the brain.
Turkey with dressing and mashed potatoes affects the brain.
It is not the food, the weed, the drug, the product that matters. It's the molecule.
It behooves all people to educate themselves about the substances and foods that they take into their body, which effect the brain.
The main problem with drug use and young people is the maturity of the brain. Any teacher can tell you how hard it is to educate a horomonal fourteen year old about anything. Twenty-eight is not so young. At some point we have to call people adults and responsible for their own decisions.
I liked my coffee with real cream. The fattening kind.
Since I can't stand coffee black, I now avoid coffee. That cream is a killer.
