I never stated that I knew it came from the top, AKA. I did list a new york times story which talked about a link between Drudge and the Clinton campaign that made me think that it could be. I decided not to press it though. I don't know that it did or it didn't.
What I mean by being fed up is Clinton again stating that it's no big deal and also her wiggle room statement that she doesn't "know" that it came from her camp. It's not really a denial, but like I said, I think we're looking at this from different angles.
I've been trying to see this from the side of the Clinton campaign, but it gets more difficult when I feel that she's just trying to bloody him. I don't think the picture by itself is enough to convict one way or the other, but its a pattern of careless seeming attacks....and like I said, there have been plenty of actual attacks from people in her camp (like the muslim e-mail and the Bob kerrey statement) so it's not ridiculous to see a pattern, even if you don't agree with me that it's there.
I think to be honest with you that the anonymous is also getting to me. Maybe if people like anonymous would stop writing such ugly slurs, it would be easier not to feel like we're all going into the general election in bad straits as a party.
But also, I think that watching Clinton campaign I have less respect for her, in the way that she has run her campaign, than I did when this all started a couple of months ago. Then my support for Obama was probably only about five or possibly ten percent higher than my support for Clinton. My respect for him has risen, and my respect for her is fallen. It doesn't mean that I won't vote for her if she pulls ahead, or finds a way to win the nomination. But my enthusiasm for Clinton is at a low ebb with the combination of her "shame on you" tactics this weekend, and Maggie Smith saying that Obama should be "ashamed" of his actions regarding the picture today(?).
It feels like Obama and Clinton supporters are speaking two different languages, and there's no interpreter for the different ways we're experiencing this campaign.
