Original article: Can Obama be deprogrammed?

Neo liberlism worked like a charm for many obvious reasons. The problem is

that Obama promised neoliberalism in the campaign and hasn't delivered. Instead of targeted tax cuts and fiscal responsibility, he put through a keynesian hog fest that's given the right a ton of political capital just when we need it most. He hasn't regulated the banks to encourage new industry and employment. He can't deliver on health care because the liberal rank and file are sitting on their lazy butts. This is a moment of opportunity, and we should all be in the streets demanding single payer. But the rank and file don't bother with policy. They barely noticed the Clintons' successes. And they certainly aren't going to lift a finger to get us out of this mess.

Meanwhile, 'liberal' pundits will always confuse the issues with bulls--t.

I like stupid, but there's such a thing as too stupid.

That's this Apatow person. Please. I could do better with my nipples tied behind my back.

Now is the time. The liberal rank and file have to get off their lazy

butts and demand single payer. And don't expect victory over night. Even with all-out mobilization, it'll be an excrutiating battle.

But as usual, nobody will lift a finger, as when Obama gave us a Keynesian hog fest of a stimulus instead of the fiscally responsible Clintonomics he had promised, and liberals didn't even notice.

I never blame politicians for anything anymore. The problem is the lazy, self obsessed public. And Lind helps them avoid real work by providing this in-depth romp through every irrellevant detail of the plans to save the private system. Please.

I was trained by some pretty raunchy queens in SF. I love vulgarity,

and I thought Borat was hillarious. But Bruno looks insulting. SBC isn't convincing as a queer. From the commercials, it doesn't seem to have jack to do with gay life or culture. It looks like the same character in Borat. It worked before because Borat was from an unknown backwater. Bruno represents gay men as vulgar, heartless, and ignorant. We are really vulgar, kind, and somewhat educated.

Lind is a dingbat on this. There have been plenty of religious

governments that have granted freedom to their peoples. Indeed, I think the Moors in Spain were particularly enlightened. Anyway, Iranians today are probably not fighting for secular government. So Lind is either barking up the wrong tree, or encouraging American secularists to feel superior, or both.

Monday, June 22, 2009 07:46 PM

Lind's generalities are tired. Secular governments have done their share of wrong.

I don't need to be ruled by fanatics of any stripe, either fundamentalists or technocrats using 'facts' to justify their cruelty. And democracy itself can be horrible when the public are heartless and ignorant rubes.

The article looks suspiciously like part for commercial media's push to drive a wedge between liberal christians and secularists. I thought they had hired Sam Harris for that. He must not be doing the job, so they're subcontracting out the work.

navyguy is a brilliant political analyst who should be on the payroll of

newsweek and msnbc.

And though Lind is right that McCain would be worse, it doesn't excuse Obama from reversing on his campaign promises to give us fiscally responsible reform and financial regulation. What he's done so far on the economy is frightening.

The campaign for gay marraige was a stupid move in the first place.

Demanding marraige in a hick State like Califormnia? Please. It's typical self defeating bulls--t.

The public are against gay marraige but support domestic partnership. So of course the community picked another fight they couldn't win. The queer community carry a ton of baggage, and their stratgy is set by the victim complex crowd, not to mention the self righteous set who live for pointing out how unfair everyone is. They're also hopelessly naive and confuse politicians with saints. A smooth operator like Obama is not going to waste capital on people who don't notice the most obvious political realities.

So now, instead of a quick and easy victory on domestic partnership, they can get all frothy over how terrible Obama is, and waste a few more years.

I still think democratic voters need to get out there,

join ngos, write congress, and protest in the streets for a fiscally responsible stimulus and single payer health care. Nothing serious will happen without massive public pressure. But the public mind has been formed by decades of commercial media bull--it and is hopelessly selfish and lazy and ignorant. So nothing will happen, and they'll have wasted another democratic administration, just as they spat on the Clintons.

Original article: Obama's hit -- and big miss

Paglia is an exteme example of a media pundit.

Although not as stupid, all of the others are dingbats too, and for the same reasons.

Commercial media's top priority is promoting ignorance. They sell junk, and educated people don't buy junk. Also, the public don't listen to smart people. Probably feeling inferior, the masses throughout history have either trashed or executed anyone who's too smart or fair or kind.

So get used to the eternal shell game. Cuz you'll be hearing a lot more from sweet Camille, and Rush, and Rachel, and Ed, and Morniing Joe, and Chris, and all the other dingbats and spin doctors who either twist or sugar coat reality.

But it must take a ton of arrogance to get what you want then complain about it.

Original article: A warning for Democrats?

I like how commercial media reps ignore the most stunningly successful

policies of our time: neo liberalism. Instead, we're told the stimulus is too small (pure speculation based on zero evidence), and that European elections will somehow doom the democrats, and other rhetorical flights too stupid to repeat.

There's still time, before the stimulus is actually spent, to force Obama and the dems to adopt fiscally responsible Clintonomics. But neither a democratic congress nor the herd of media shills will suggest it. We need a massive movement of democratic voters to join NGOs, write on the net, and make a fuss about fiscal policy. But they won't. They've always been too lazy to study government policy. They barely noticed the Clintons' successes, and they prefer slogans like 'Yes we can.' Meanwhile, it's doubtful the stimulus will fix anything, which is the real danger we face.

Saturday, June 6, 2009 08:10 PM

Typical of commercial media to go right to non issues:

Hillary, Cuba, and NAFTA. Please.

Meanwhile, Obama reversed himself after months of promising fiscally responsible Clintonomics. Instead, he's given us a Keynesian hog fest that could do more harm than good. And deocratic voters are letting him get away with it. It shows how truely ig the public are.
