They split the party in the 60s in Chicago, and again in 2000 by voting for Nader and putting Bush in office. That time, they didn't even understand 3rd grade arithmetic. And they've never apologized or admitted what they did.
They were convinced in 3 seconds by the MSM's name calling and childish insults, and by Obama's shallow rhetoric. I wonder how they like his lurching to the right?
They still don't understand the winner take all system, and the fact that the dems don't have a veto proof majority is far beyond their comprehension.
Now they want to split the party again. But guess what dingbats. We don't have that much power. Just like in 2000, we're facing a tough race and have to work together.
But I forget. Like in 2000, they're drunk on self righteousness and don't care what damage they do, even to the disaster of putting the republicans back in office.
I was on the far far left for many years and tolerated their off the scale stupity. But no more.
They live in a self righteous dream world and don't give a damn what horrifying damage they do. I thought everyone knew what their ideology is. They shout it from the rooftops.
Many of us share the same values without despising everyone who doesn't.
As for them refrring to themselves as the genuine progressives, a couple of people on this thread did it. I've also seen it on other blogs. And it ticks me off.
I didn't generalize. Most of what I wrote about the far left are facts. As for saying dingbat and stupity, I apoligize. Huffpo and Kos must have rubbed off on me. Witless rants? That's all you did, with the paragraph length name calling and childish sneers. I listed far left actions going back decades.
Even your apology was insincere. You 'really' apologize, then imply that living in Taxas lets you off the hook. At least it's a better excuse than 2000 when they chanted 'proportional representation' when we begged them not to do it.
No. It's not about the most accomplished and knowledgeable democrats of our time. That ship has sailed, thanks to another media smear campaign. As I said throughout my note, it's about the far left splitting the party again.
I'll call anyone shallow who is. I criticized the Clintons plenty when they were in office. But I was surprised that you all didn't notice that Obama had swiped the entire Clinton policy agenda.
I hope he runs with it.
I'll never vote for McCain and resent the implication.
I assume Harriet Christian is someone you don't like. Good one.
And I'm not the least bit humiliated by your nonstop insults. I was trying to argue against the far left destroying the party again, but forgot that you can spin trivia into anything you want. I never saw a scrap of logical reasoning or even adult conversation from the netroots throughout the primary, and I should have known better than try to reason with the far left. I live in another Universe.
Man I've seen spin, but you guys always outdo yourselves.
The democrats are as conservative as the republicans used to be? No they're not, not as conservative as the republican party of 25 years ago after the far right took over, or of 40 years ago when it was the business party, greedy but educated and slighty moderate.
I'm not complaining that the dems aren't conservative enough. I'm saying, again, that we have to work together, and compromise, and behave civily toward one another, in order to get anything done. That's adult politics.
It looks to me like you've radically redefined liberal, conservative, and moderate in order to confuse the issue.
The point I'm trying to make, is that the far left lives in a dream where they can wave a magic wand and remake the Universe. Exactly how would you kick out the blue dogs? Do you have the votes in the red States? Can you order the msm to attack them? The only thing you can do is start another sneer campaign on the blogs, like the one that worked so well on the Clintons. But you've already brought republican smear tactics into the party and alienated a ton of educated dems. And you would only get the blue dogs to switch parties. Great move.
What I'm saying is, after Chicago, and the disaster in 2000, would you please, please, listen to mainstream liberals. Stop cherry picking our failures in order to discredit the most successful administration of our time. We share your ideals. But we're more practical at getting things done.
But he plays the usual shell game of commerical media.
Right. It was a two bit republican hack that destroyed the federal governemnt, not the massive media smear camapign against Gore, not the far left editors who stumped for Nader, and not the corporate media that suppressed facts that would have stopped Bush's abuses.
But commercial media pays Frank's salary, so attention has to be directed elswhere.
and the way he's changed positions, and the dirty campaign he and his worshipers ran, and that the media's love fest with him was strategic until the Clintons were out of the way.
But there are too many variables to predict, and Obama could end up crushing McCain (I hope). I'm just worried that this Edwards business is a backdoor smear at the dems, and Obama, as unreliable adulterers, and that there's more to come.
I fear the msm, and I'm sure the decision of who is to win has been made, although they've been more cagey about it than when they were openly smearing Al Gore 6 months before the "election".
