@missfitz. He may not be now, but in 2000 Hitchens was one of the

leftist elite. He had a weakly column in The Nation. where he stumped nonstop for Nader, as did the entire leftist media.

@NRI1969, You ask who lost the election and why. The far left lost it by giving the Court the wiggle room to hand it to Bush. That's third grade arithmetic. Why is just as obvious. The far left are hysterically self righteous, and bad leaders give them more chances to complain about others.

As for Moore's films, they're typical far left screed. Blame everything on the corporations. That relieves the audience of their responsibilities, to clean up their carbon foot prints, work in charity, and speak truth with their mouths and dollars by demanding educated people be given room in the media.

But all that is work, and the left is also lazier than a bear in December.

Now is the time. Liberal money bags in Hollywood and elsewhere need to

match insurance industry bribes to the blue dogs. The democratic base needs to take to the street every weekend demanding not just the public option but also its immediate implementation. What is this three years bulls--t? We wait three years for reform when medicare provides a perfectly good model that can be used now? The insurance companies have another three years to gouge us?

The net roots need to organize all of this now. And we all need to get involved. If we don't, it'll show we're a bunch of self satisfied rubes.

Reading blog replies, and seeing how ignorant the general public is, is starting

to be so depressing. We still have the fertility cult pretending that having babies has something to do with biblical values. It's an obscure passage, people. How about the nonstop demands for social justice by Jesus and the prophets? But of course that would mean actually caring about others, which fundy hypocrits would never do.

Here's some irony. I was raised by a lutheran, republican business man, taken to church regularly, and taught by my dad that there was a population explosion and that everyone should have two kids only. That way, people would have the chance for the complete experience of raising a boy and a girl. But a very few would die, and the population would gradually decrease. This was taught very casually, and there was never a hint that it had anything to do with religion.

That was forty years ago. So it's wild for me now, seeing these rubes tell us that God wants everyone to breed up a storm.

The stimulus should be reconfigured into Clintonomics,

which Obama promised us in the primary. Instead he gave us a Keynesian hogfest that is slowly failing.

Tax cuts should be carefully targetted for job creation by industries we need for the industrial base, steel, solar panels, trains, etc. Spending should also be used to create jobs, but only jobs that also provide services and modern infrastructure, healthcare and education, clean transit, sustainable energy, etc. That will spur the economy with paychecks that'll circulate around, and make society function more efficiently.

Time to call a boycott of Montana and every other State with

a blue dog standing in the way of the public option. Also, congress should vote to stop medicare payments to these States. Also, Hollywood money bags should match the bribes the blue dogs got from the insurance industry. Also, there should be demonstrations for the option every weekend in all the major cities. Get moving people. We're almost there after 60 years. And this is too important to stay sitting on your lazy butts.

Boycott Montana, Nabraska, Louisiana, and Arkansa.

Research each State's exports and buy those products only from other sources. Call your reps and ask them to stop medicare and social security payments to those States. Donate five dollars to a free clinic and five dollars to a public option lobby.

Time to play rough.

@Shellouise, no I'm not on face book.

Thanks for the kind words. But one other person won't make much difference. And these liberals are typical of the breed: lazy, self righteous, and not interested in doing anything that'll actually make a difference.

Moyers says get busy. They're busy all right, busy chatting over a bunch of trivia.

Dawkins is a creep, and a slippery one at that.

I think he and Sam Harris were hired by corporate media to drive a wedge between liberal atheists and liberal christians. Oh, right. The God Delusion is not confrontational at all, but is really a very funny book, really. And calling other people delusional is a compliment. Please.

Of course I haven't read it, and not just because of the insulting title. Unlike hard core atheists, I don't care for mental masturbation.

You got the name right, anyway. But I'm afraid I don't get the joke.

Are you saying that because of my handle everything I write has to be perfectly fair? Sorry, but what I'm saying here is not about fairness. The points are simple: that Dawkins is an insulting creep hired to divide the liberals, and that he deals in mental masturbation, which is shown by this article, and by Sam Harris' book and websight, all of which I have read.

It is these guys who are grossly unfair, cherry picking history to trash all christians, and ignoring the charming contributions of the scientific set, like the a bomb, stealth fighter, and global warming, to name a few.

You don't get it? Let me 'splain.

The democrats have to go begging because of the powerful forces on the other side: insurance companies, drug companies, and the media itself. Please don't be fooled by the weak arguments given by Rachel and Keith. Those just provide plausible deniability, a semblance of liberalism.

The democrats have to go begging because, as usual, their lazy a-s base are sitting on their lazy a-s-es. On an issue as important to the republicans, they would be out en mass, and we should have public option rallies every weekend in every major city. But all we do is hope for the best and put all the responsibility on fifty five true Senators. Nice job, people. Go for a latte, now.
