Original article: Gay mecca no more

Going for marraige in a hick State like California was always moronic.

It's typical victim complex gay politics. Ask, no demand more than you can get, then complain that no one plays fair. Please.

But they've been playing the same game for 30 years. And there's no sign they'll ever grow up.

Dear Unlovely Truth, Sotomayor's use of the word better is ok for two reasons.

First, a latina perspective is better than a white male's because of basic fairness. Justice is an impossible concept for republicans because they've ignored the gospel for centuries. But, you'll be shocked to learn, the white male perspective dominates society and has been a tad self serving.

Second, new perspective often brings cultural richness. In this case, the massive contributions of latina culture could enrich the court beyond the most saintly anglo simply because, like all peoples, anglos have only so much wisdom to impart. Simply put, we've heard from white males, over and over, year after year, decade after decade after century. If we hear from someone else, we might learn something new.

That's not so hard to understand. Or is it?

Original article: Democracy needs a bailout

The public are horrible: lazy, selfish, and ignorant. But the press is worse

and always has been. Commercial media's prime goal is an ignorant public. They work for that all day every day. They hire only dingbats and spin doctors who crank out vast mountains of bulls-it.

The articles in Salon tell us all we need to know. TV reviews, politics as personalities, Obama's uncle, Taguba's denial. Please. The never ending flood of trivia and distraction instead of careful review of policy. No mention that Obama failed in his promise to give us fiscally responsible Clintonomics and is burying us in debt, with massive bailouts, pork, and Keynesianism run amok.

Most dissappointing are the democratic rank and file. They're sheep ready for sheering, serfs comfortable with indentured servitude, hopeless dingbats happy to let government be crippled, and to make huge interest payments on the national debt. It's pathetic.

If Franken wins, the Court should install him immediately.

So it would be terrible pr for a Supreme Court that believes in States' rights to intervene in a State election that was resolved by the State Court.

But who knows what could happen, not just because the Court is unpredictable. The media is totally corrupt and capable of making any stupid argument, which the public will fall for like a ton of mentally challenged bricks.

Original article: Incorporate this!

I'd rather GM and others be chartered for mass transit and clean energy.

But nothing will happen so long as the public sit on their hands, and while they get their info from corporate media. None of these issues will enter the public square if Rachel Maddow has anything to say about it. The only way to get anything serious is to create genuine media, and put the snake oil salesmen posing as newspeople out of business.

It's starting to look like the only way to reform government is to elect a bunch of socialists. Obama has refused to give us the fiscally responsible Clintonomics he promised and has thrown cash at the very robber barons who got us into this. Now he's put a trial baloon out there for efficient cars, which is as timid as it gets. That's the best he can do without public involvement, and even that was ripped apart by George Will on the Snufulufugus Show.

Wake up. There's no way the corporations will allow their assetts to be nationalized while corporate news has such complete control of the public.

They're only different in degree from the rest of the media pundits.

These two spout open racism. The rest use more subtle rhetorical tricks to dumb down public discourse. And people like Conason legitimize commercial media by pretending that other pundits are somehow more honest. Please.

But obviously the snow job is working with this uneducated crowd.

Typical of commercial media to go right to non issues:

Hillary, Cuba, and NAFTA. Please.

Meanwhile, Obama reversed himself after months of promising fiscally responsible Clintonomics. Instead, he's given us a Keynesian hog fest that could do more harm than good. And deocratic voters are letting him get away with it. It shows how truely ig the public are.

Original article: A warning for Democrats?

I like how commercial media reps ignore the most stunningly successful

policies of our time: neo liberalism. Instead, we're told the stimulus is too small (pure speculation based on zero evidence), and that European elections will somehow doom the democrats, and other rhetorical flights too stupid to repeat.

There's still time, before the stimulus is actually spent, to force Obama and the dems to adopt fiscally responsible Clintonomics. But neither a democratic congress nor the herd of media shills will suggest it. We need a massive movement of democratic voters to join NGOs, write on the net, and make a fuss about fiscal policy. But they won't. They've always been too lazy to study government policy. They barely noticed the Clintons' successes, and they prefer slogans like 'Yes we can.' Meanwhile, it's doubtful the stimulus will fix anything, which is the real danger we face.

Original article: Obama's hit -- and big miss

Paglia is an exteme example of a media pundit.

Although not as stupid, all of the others are dingbats too, and for the same reasons.

Commercial media's top priority is promoting ignorance. They sell junk, and educated people don't buy junk. Also, the public don't listen to smart people. Probably feeling inferior, the masses throughout history have either trashed or executed anyone who's too smart or fair or kind.

So get used to the eternal shell game. Cuz you'll be hearing a lot more from sweet Camille, and Rush, and Rachel, and Ed, and Morniing Joe, and Chris, and all the other dingbats and spin doctors who either twist or sugar coat reality.

But it must take a ton of arrogance to get what you want then complain about it.

Thursday, June 11, 2009 05:20 PM

I still think democratic voters need to get out there,

join ngos, write congress, and protest in the streets for a fiscally responsible stimulus and single payer health care. Nothing serious will happen without massive public pressure. But the public mind has been formed by decades of commercial media bull--it and is hopelessly selfish and lazy and ignorant. So nothing will happen, and they'll have wasted another democratic administration, just as they spat on the Clintons.
