JESSICA'S LAW

My husband is one who will be affected by this law if it passes in Calif. He was wrongly convicted of a misdemeanor disturbing the peace law 40 years ago - it involved a girl. They made him start registering as a sex-offender when Megan's law was passed 10 years ago.

He was not guilty then (we were poor and couldn't fight the accusation at the time) and has never hurt anyone in his life.

If Jessica's law passes, my husband, who is confined to a wheelchair and legally blind and can't go out of the house without me due to confusion resulting from multiple strokes, and I will be be forced to move because we bought a house next to a school 15 years ago. We have consulted a lawyer and this will be a court case if it comes to that. We're not going without a FIGHT!

Do you think this is OK? And what about teenagers having consensual sex and being branded sex-offenders and having to wear a GPS device the rest of their lives. You hysterical people have gone TOO FAR. I just hope your kid doesn't have sex with his/her date and get caught.

Keep this in mind --you think you're voting to keep violent predators away from children BUT ---ALL sex offenders who have to register are not VIOLENT PREDATORS and treating them all the same is WRONG. And most sex offenses are commited by TRUSTED FAMILY MEMBERS.

Why do we even talk about Ann Coulter

Nobody can shut her up, but you can stop repeating what she says in the media. That way, the rest of us will not have to be subjected to her bigotry and stupidity.

Obama "stumbling"

I thought he had every right to be irritated at the Sean Hannity questions which have nothing to do with the issues facing our country. Your Hillary bias is showing. All she had to do was comment on the stupid questions they asked Obama and she used the opportunity to dig her knife in deeper, she lied about the Weatherman quote (he said it BEFORE 9/11) and made other misleading statements in the process, making her THE LAST person I would want to vote for at this time.

The Republican Talking Points

Why are you repeating Pat Buchanan's talking points? You're part of the problem with the media. Obama is still ahead in delegates AND the popular vote. Why can't Clinton close the deal???

Rev. Wright

I'm not surprised. You just don't get it.

More on Wright being "Wrong"

When I said "you just don't get it" yesterday, I forgot to point out a little fact that is getting no air play. When the Clintons were in the white house they sought counsel from none other than Jeremiah Wright for their marital problems. If he was ok then, why is he NOT ok now???

Wright is telling the truth about our country and we are TOTALLY uninformed because of our mis-education system and YOU the MEDIA who keep pushing MIS-INFORMATION and SPIN in the guise of news. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Only if we face the truth can we right the wrongs that are being done here and around the world.

Original article: I was wrong about Wright

Somewhat better but…

First I want to say, I don't think Wright is trying to sabotage Obama. I think he is just trying to explain himself and his church and what they stand for. Have you ever actually been to a black church? There is always a lot of shouting back and forth between the preacher and the audience and the minister's delivery is very theatrical to say the least. Your prejudice (dare I say elitism?) is showing here.

What about holding Hillary accountable for asking Rev. Wright for counseling when she and Bill were having the Lewinsky problem. How about holding McCain accountable for Haggee who thinks Katrina was God's punishment for gays. A nut case for sure.

And how about Hillary's former pastor being in jail for child molestation?? In a fair and balanced world, these items should also be reported and debated with the intensity you are applying to Obama.

What YOU THE MEDIA should do about Rev. Wright.

SHUT UP ABOUT IT ALREADY. THIS IS A MANUFACTURED ISSUE MEANT TO DISTRACT US FROM THE ECONOMY, WAR, HEALTH CRISIS, ETC. ETC.

No kidding

Thank you.

If, maybe, should

Clinton's plan is contingent on getting a windfall tax on the oil companies through Congress and getting it signed by Bush by this summer. The sad truth is that this is a fantasy. (Obama actually got it passed in Illinois BEFORE it took effect, DUH!)

AFTER one of them is elected president, if they are indeed elected after all this back-stabbing that is destroying any Democrat's chances, then MAYBE they can get it through Congress.

Women supposedly for Clinton

I am a white woman who didn't graduate from college (2 years there) and I'm 67 years old. I'm for Obama. The reasons are because: first of all, Clinton voted FOR the war and the Patriot Act. She didn't lift a hand during her seven years on the board of directors to help those "invisible" women who worked at WalMart as "Part-time" workers so the company wouldn't have to give them benefits. Her husband passed NAFTA with her help.

Do you really believe women are going to vote for an anti-choice 72 year old man who wants to keep us in Iraq for 100 years and do away with social security and health care, letting the insurance companies run the whole show and charge anything they can get away with? Plus passing EVEN more tax cuts for the rich and MORE DEREGULATION? McCain is SO WRONG on all the issues, he can't possibly win if we keep our wits about us.

Get over it Joan, Clinton lost because of her stand on the issues and her arrogant ELITIST assumption that the nomination was locked up in her favor. (not to mention her divisive attacks on Obama--fueling McCain's campaign).

This doesn't matter?

The high crimes of the Bush administration DON'T MATTER??? YOU are obviously part of the problem, not the solution.

Wesley Clarke

Joan, you and I are in complete agreement on this one!

Help McCain?

Are you kidding? Let's hope he keeps self-destructing. We can't afford to have another Republican in the white house.
