What's up? Are the Democrats showing their brawn in the Senate yard.

Why would the democrat majority hand a loaded gun to a backstabber? I guess the democrats must be feeling really strong, they can handle this guy. Also, he would be a good route to McCain who does not have another presidential run left in him and can resume his renegade ways against the George Bush, Sarah Palin crowd. Finally Lieberman reminds me of the sister's in prison movies, he belongs to the toughest gang in the yard.

No Truth Commission

Sir,

The world is full of truth commissions that are toothless and meaningless. They usually don't prosecute or compensate the victims of their crimes. The US is the most highly respected exemplar for Human Rights and justice. Please do not dilute your standards for rights and justice by some rinky dink procedure. Use your law to destroy the shameful practices indulged in by the last administration. It will make people oppressed by a state that sees them as the other human again.

The caste factor

I wonder how these comics would handle the caste factor in Hindu India? Pretty much all the Indian Devi/Devtas come with the racist/caste baggage.

I am sorry to say this feels like a paid write up/advertisement. I did not think Salon did this kind of journalism. I am afraid Salon has lost a great deal of its journalistic stature in my eyes.

Original article: Hooking ain't easy

Stop criticizing Pilot look at yourself.

Quote on self

"But when I wrote a personal essay for Salon about my experience with casual sex, some readers suggested that I was exploiting myself or being exploited by my editors, and that could not be further from the reality of my experience writing and publishing the piece."

Quote of Pilot

"That's not to say she doesn't have a keen sense of what makes editors' ears perk up: "Sex sells and my being young and female -- of course people eat it up.""

Female sexuality sell's. Pilot sold it and you sold it. Both of you exploited female sexuality.

Foul Play

Sir,

It seems that Mr. McFaul has an interest advocating that the US sort out border disputes in the former Soviet Union in that academic grants and work will flow to the former Soviet Union centric academics. The break up of the Soviet Union has been harsh on academia that analyzed the former Soviet Union. Therefore it would be better to work out the intricacies of this principal agent problem before the fourth estate in the form of Salon.com makes itself a platform for US interference in these internecine wars.

miscegenation

Sir,

I remember reading that the data from online dating sites show that colored men stand less of a chance attracting dates. I think this was mentioned in the book "Freakonomics" by a Chicago economist. In your piece on Hair Salon politics on this website, motherly african american affection towards Barack O' Bama does not wish to vote for Mr. O' Bama because he might be killed by the "white male" power structure. These factoids make me a little sceptical of Mr. Krugmans use of a single statistic on the acceptability of miscegenation to underpin his argument. I think that while there is a greater tolerance for miscegeneation, it is a question that begs further research. A scholar of the stature of Mr. Krugman should not base his arguments without viewing race as a complex structure and doing more homework.

If you think they hate us now - Republicans v Democrats

Sir,

I found your article one sided, recently Sen. Barack O' Bama suggested that he would attack the soveriegn soil of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan unilaterally if there were terrorists who were intent on harming the US interest. Perhaps he should have been advised of the sensibilities of the Islamic state you so assiduously wish not to harm.

The state of the debate in the primary's is geared towards core constitutiencies, which is why the candidates are pandering to Islam phobia, while not paying attention to the longer term vision of the United States, as you correctly high light in your article.

I do not for a minute feel that the duly elected president, whether Republican or Democrat, will be narrow in his/her view of Islam.

In my opinion Senator's. Clinton and McCain are probably the most mature with regards to world affairs

Regards
