It's not epic and it's very overrated

The battle for the nomination has already been won by Obama a long time ago. Hillary can win only if the remaining uncommitted super-delegates decide to break for her by 2 to 1 margin, something that is never going to happen, and if it does, would mean the end of the Democratic party. In addition, Pennsylvania isn't representative of the US in any way, with it's largely Caucasian, blue color, under educated population. This is a state that was practically designed by chance to be a Hillary Clinton state. If she was going to be the nominee she would beat him by 30 points, yet she would be fortunate to win by 10 points, which wouldn't make a damn bit of difference. She should've quit months ago, but that's not something the Clintons do, since she's now running to make McBush president, so she can run in 2012.

Actually, it is over

Every other candidate, Democrats and Republicans withdrew when they had no chance of winning the nomination. Hillary has zero chance of becoming the nominee, yet she won't quit. Every day in which McCain escapes scrutiny for his numerous and profound faults, corruption and irrational behavior, is a day the Democrats would never get back and increases McCain chances of becoming the next president. Hallucinations such as "It ain't over", a complete fallacy, are certain to put McCain in the White House. It is over, the Clintons will never acknowledge it is, but the rest of her supporters shouldn't behave like Kamikazes.

cythera45, yes, it is over

Because in a state custom tailored for Clinton, where millions of people still refer to African-Americans as "colored" and to African-American men as "boys", where she should've blown him out by 35-40 points, she may win by 10-15 if she has a perfect day and if many voting machines in African-American precincts continue to miraculously break down.

Hillary's phony "win"

Many of today's Clinton voters in Pennsylvania will vote for McCain in the fall, regardless of whether the nominee is Hillary or Obama, for the following reasons:

1.Abortion.

2.Gay marriage

3.The US faces annihilation and only the intrepid war hero McCain can save us from being overrun by the Islamic hordes wishing to establish a Caliphate with its capitol in Pittsburgh.

Let's say she wins by a 15 points margin in a state she should win by a 40 point margin, and 30 to 50 percent of her supporters vote for crazy McCain in November. It would actually mean that she has suffered a great defeat today. On the other hand, every preson who voted for Obama today in Pennsylvania, would vote for him in November.

This is a Hillary defeat

In her friendliest state, a state in which she should've blown him away by 35-40 points, after a months of almost non-stop gaffes by Obama, she can't seem to beat him by a double digit figure. Even if the Florida&Michigan "results" were allowed in, and they won't. she would still need to win all remaining primaries with about 70 percent of the vote. After tonight, it's clearer than ever that she cannot win the nomination unless Obama drops dead. She's staying in the race to prevent Obama from winning in November, so she can run in 2012.

She's succeeding in her mission

which is to hand the presidency to her crazy pal McCain, so she can run in 2012, which is all this "win" was all about. Of course she was going to "win" a state where the majority of the population doesn't even own passports and refers to Africa-America "colored". The fact she didn't blow him away by 40 points shows what a weak candidate she actually is.

Wednesday, April 23, 2008 07:01 AM

She hasn't won anything

She got 9 percent more than Obama in a state where most people don't even own passports and still refer to African-American as "colored". By beating him by 9 points in a state where she should've beaten him by 40, she lost the delegate count and now cannot under any legitimate circumstances win the nomination. She's now running for the sole purpose of handing the presidency to her crazy pal McCain so she can run against him in 2012. In spite of all the hoopla in the event Traister reports about, she actually suffered a defeat last night.

Original article: Obama can't close the deal

There was never any deal to close

Large segments of Pennsylvania's residents are yobos, rednecks and bigoted. This is a state were words like "colored", "boys", and worse, are often used in reference to African-Americans. This is a state where men shoot innocent beautiful animals with high power telescopic rifles and call it "sport" and "outdoor activity". This is a state where a large majority of the population doesn't even own passports, where only 8 weeks ago Clinton was up by an average of 30 percentage points. This is the friendliest state to Clinton the Clinton campaign could have hoped for. This is a state where many of the Clinton voters would switch to McCain in the fall even if she's the nominee. This is the state where in spite of all the aforementioned, Obama managed to lose by only 9-10 points. There wasn't any deal for Obama to close in this particular state, by Clinton has lost any mathematical slim chance she had had of overtaking him in the pledged delegate count.

In November

And you can rest assured that most of the uneducated whites who gave Clinton her margin of "victory", are going to vote for McCain in November.

About those voters

The white uneducated voters that keep Obama from "closing the deal" and Clinton in the race, are also called Reagan Democrats. They have been voting the GOP ticket in every presidential election since 1980. Despite their almost hopeless employment situation in an outsourced US economy, they vote in the general on issues like abortion, gay marriage, gun ownership, flag burning and other phony "patriotic" issues. They will vote for McCain regardless of who the Democrats run against him.
