like she wins every other debate she participates in-she memorizes statistics, recites like a robot positions somebody else comes up with, repeats recycled sounbites, and delivers them with great speed, contrived hand gestures, contrived facial expressions and complete lack of sincerity. I can anticipate not only just about everything she will say in respond to a debate question, but which facial expression and hand gestures she will use. She is more contrived and insincere than the sleaziest door to door salesman I ever had the misfortune of answering my door to. Those who fall for her uninspiring serial insincerity will keep supporting her, but apparently, their number is rapidly dwindling.
Hillary has had two gerat opportunities to ptove her worth in the last 15 years. She was appointed by her president husband to head a task force charged with reforminmg the US healtcate system. She failed badly on that front, she was arrogant, refused to allow input from Democrats who had different ideas from her and relied too much on the HMOs and drug companies, who part of the problem, to be part of the solution. her second opportunity came when Bush demanded the Congress authorize him to invade Iraq. She voted for it, because she believed it would help her when she ran for president. He "experience" is a perfect example why it's crcucial that the next president has as little washingtomn "expeience" as possible. He "experience" is a perfect proof of why she's totally unqualified.
When the powerful chairman of the US Senate commerce committee writes a letter to the FCC urging action on a corporation's application, he doesn't have to overtly demand that the FCC rule in favor of the corporation. McCain isn't the smartest guy in the world but even he would know not to demand a ruling in his lobbyst friend emmployer's favor. This is a covert offer that the FCC would find hard to refuse. Such a letter is nothing but a barely disguised act of intimidation and pressure. This is the true gist of this matter, not whether McCain had sex with the lobbyist, which is his business. McCain is a corrupt bully, and it's crucial that the public is aware of this fact.
Right now, even Hillary isn't sure why she's running, since she practically admitted the truth at the end of the debate:she has no chance of being the nominee. This isn't a football or basketball game that must be played till the the ref blows the final whistle-this is about winning the white house for the Democrats, and far more importantly, for the nation and the rest of the world, after the 8 years of the Bush/Cheney nightmare. Since she cannot, under any circumstances baring the death of Obama become the nominee, we should already be in the orocess of unifying the democratic party and prepairing a game plain against that old corrupt hyporite, John McCain. The Democratic primaries have gone long enough, Obama has been tested and passed with flying colors and now is the time to unite against the real enemy-the fascist GOP.
I never claimed that Hillary doesn't have the right to continue her campaign. The point though is that she cannot win the nomination. The aim, which is replacing the Republicans with a Democrat in the white house, is far too crucial for the nation and the world-it really is a matter of life or death. Right now, every dollar and every minute should be dedicated to defeating McCain in November, a mission that is going to be extremely difficult under any circumstances. The Democrats should already be bying TV and newspaper ads that inform the public about McCain's ties to lobbyist and the fact that his campaign advisors are all Washington lobbyists. Every dollar spent now on the Democratic primaries is a wasted dollar that benefits only the Republicans. If you ever watched chess masters play, you would know that when one realizes his oponent has a significant advantage, he/she resigns instead of waithing for the final checkmate.
But if Hillary continues her campaign, there will be more mudslinging. Does anyone doubt, for example, that the Republicans will use Hillary's Xerox plagiarism comments in the Texas debate against him in the general elections and claim that they are only using the words of another Democrat? Or the Clinton camp's words that "Senator Obama isn't qualified to be commander in chief"?
The truth is that the Clintons had based their strategy on knocking Obama out at the Super Tuesday primaries. When, to their complete shock, that strategy failed, they started engaging in a scorched earth strategy, since the Clintons, by their nature, never quit and never accept defeat. Right now the Clintons' continuation of their campaign isn't really an exercise in democracy but an attempt to bring Obama down with them, which benefits only the fascist McCain.
