We are the worst nation in the world

Because we know better, because we've been doing for generations what the founding fathers didn't want us to do, because we are violating our own values and principles. The founding fathers didn't want this republic to become an empire after they had fought a bloody revolutionary war to free themselves from the rule of an empire. For generations we have toppled government around the world, installing oligarchies that would toe the line of our corporate interests. We have trained an armed death squads who committed genocidal murders in Latin America and other parts of the world. There's no difference between such policies and activities and what Hitler or Stalin had done. When we considerd Saddam our ally, we tolerated and even encouraged his genocidal activities. Countries like Sudan or Saudi Arabia don't know any better, they have no values or moral restrictions to their actions, but we have become the most criminal and aggressive country in the world intensionally, in spite of our values, and that's why we are now the most despised and hated nation, and we deserve to be.

The wingnuts insane logic

Foreigners want to immigrate to the US because the US is committing war crimes, blatantly interferes in other nations affairs, abuses human rights, tortures, pillages other nations, its ruling class is engaged in an orgy of war profiteering and is despised world wide for it. That's why they want to become US citizens.

Sick bastards

According to the warped values of the sick fascist wingnuts who post here, the entire German population should have supported Hitler till the bitter end because it's always "Germany right or wrong",and who the hell cares if the whole world hates the Nazis. What the Bush/Cheney regime has done is shame and taint our nation forever, and these sick bastards could care less, because the American wingnuts are as bad, cruel, corrupt and despicable as the Nazis have ever been and far more dangerous, since the Nazis never had nuclear weapons.

The man with many fake identities

The Senator from Tel Aviv, pretending to represent Connecticut as a Democrat, then Independent, while being a neocon Republican all those years.

Huckabee isn't anti-establishment

He belongs to the evangelical right wing of the GOP, the core constituency of that party and one of the premier beneficiaries of the sharp turn to the right and toward the blurring of state/church separation the GOP has taken in the last 30 years. When governor of Arkansas, Huckabee had conducted himself with enough sleaze to qualify as part of the establishment. His whole shtick is to pretend to be an outsider and "anti-establishment", which he clearly isn't. Edwards and Paul, at least in his anti-imperialistic, anti-wars of aggression stance, are genuine anti-establishment.

re:Bad analysis pantanal

The religious Right is the core constituency of the party that has controlled the executive Branch for the last 7 years, the legislative branch for most of the last 13 years and has effectively controlled the Supreme Court for years. The fact that most elected Republicans violate the moral principles the Evangelical Right keeps pushing doesn't make the Evangelical anti-establishment, it's an indication of hypocritical the Republicans are. Huckabee has supported most of the Bush/Cheney agenda-as a matter of fact, I cannot come up with anything in their catastrophic agenda he hasn't supported. Moreover, the corporate media has been highly disinterested in information coming out of Arkansas that directly contradicts the image he's been trying to concoct. How does this make him an "anti-establishment candidate is quite puzzling to me.

Original article: A bad day for Rudy Giuliani

The last mayor of Scotland

I always thought of Giuliani as an Italian/American version Idi Amin with a Brooklyn accent.

Original article: McCain's last stand?

Sloppy John

McCain is just a pathetic figure right now. He has become the GOP establishment candidate, bowing to Bush on just about everything in the hope Bush will coronate him as his successor. He's old physically and mentality, grossly overweight and out of shape, repeating obsolete corny sound bites in the hope of receiving applauses from old codgers like him. He has nothing new or valuable to say, and he has turned himself into a caricature. He is the candidate trying to appeal to the Montgomery Ward crowd, when he should be retiring to Scottsdale to spend his wife's fortune.

Not that I compare

Hitler was a vegetarian, dog aficionado and probably an environmentalist, three things that I am, yet I would never dream of supporting him had I been a contemporary of his. It's obvious that the Democrats committed a grave error when they made Reid their senate caucus leader. Ron Paul is totally right on some issues, especially on the war and his principled opposition to the notion of an imperial USA, but he's terribly and dangerously wrong on abortion and has shown racist and extreme nativist tendencies. It's OK and advisable to want to get rid of Harry Reid while opposing the very bad and medieval ideas of Ron Paul simultaneously.

The Manchurian Candidate

The right wing likes to win even more than they hate Hillary, and that's saying something. The reason they want Barak Obama to become the Democratic candidate is that the second he's nominated, he'll become Osama/Obama, the Negro Muslim Manchurian Candidate, the Trojan Horse who was tagged by "Islamofasicm" as a baby to eventually become the US President and head the Muslim caliphate chapter in north America. If Obama becomes the Democratic candidate, the same right wing hooligans who back him now, will blast him 24/7 not for any of his plans and ideas, but solely as the Manchurian Candidate who will turn the good old USA into part of the Islamic caliphate and destroy the "American Way of Life".

Bobby Jindal is not Obama

The reason the conservatives if Jefferson Parish voted for a dark sinned man was because he's an arch-conservative Republican and not an African -American. Not one of them would vote for Obama in a presidential election even if the Republican candidate was a dead skunk.
