Denial is not just a river in Egypt

Dyson is one of those pseudo-scientists who doubt and deny everything they don't understand and everything that will not be full understood during their lifetime. There are many of is ilk who dismiss Super-String Theory because they don't understand the mathematics involved, and because a number of mathematical concepts will actually have to be developed in order to test SST before it can't be verified or rejected mathematically. Dyson knows that he will very likely be dead when the catastrophic consequences of climate change hit is, so he just doesn't care. In the meantime, he enjoys being hailed as a contrarien by global warming deniers. He is also applying blatant deception when he claims that the population of polar bears is actually increasing, nothing could be further from the truth. Richard Dawkins has blown him out of the water intellectually and disproved every single one of his bizarre theories about climate change and religion, so he's mad at him.

The Dyson Process

The process by which Dyson arrived to the conclusion that global warming isn't a big deal is by ignoring all the data and research involved and by trusting that some technology that at least at this point belongs in the science fiction sphere will take care of the problem. This is not science and not scientific thinking, this is closer to Scientology than to rational thinking. His message is that wecan continue to warm up the atmosphere with impunity, since some brilliant technology will reverse the damage and prevent a catastrophic. It's like telling an alcoholic that he can continue drinking and destroying his liver because some miracle drug will come along and reverses the liver damage. Another issue- his light hearted British style Anti-Semitism is kind of getting old.

Trust Little Benito

to have a huge and life altering transformation in the near future in which he becomes an anti abortion, pro life, anti gay rights conservative.

To be electable

in this country, a candidate may be serial philanderer like Giuliani, extremely corrupt and extremely hypocritical, change his position on issues every other week, and it won't matter, especially if he claims that he has discovered "Jeesis". However, have a candidate, even the most qualified one, admit he/she has no interest in football, and he becomes totally unelectable.

Left and Right

In just about any other country in the world, people would burst out laughing if you told them the US Democratic are called "far Left" by some crazies in the US. In just about any country, a party like the US Democratic party would be considered a moderate conservative, moderately right of center party. Republicans like John warner and Arlen Spector would be considered hard right, and the rest of the Republicans would be considered to be fascists. Our political arena has moved so far to the right in the last 30 years, that a moderately conservative party like the Democratic party is insanely considered as "Left"-what a grotesque joke our nation has become."

The Democrats don't have a "left" wing

since they are not a left wing party. they are nothing more than a moderately conservative party. In western Europe they would be to the right of the Christian Democrats in countries like Germany and Italy and in France to the right of the Sarkozy block. The most "leftists" members in the Democratic party would be considered at most to be centrists/slightly right of center anywhere else in the world. The talk about the "far left" in the Democratic party is total lunacy. That "far left" doesn't exist there or anywhere else on the US political map. Our two major political parties are an extreme right wing party dominated by a an undemocratic/authoritarian/fascist wing-the Republican party, and a moderately conservative party-the Democrats.

former dem

When a person is one foot tall, he may call a two feet tall person a giant. Our nation in general and your party in particular has moved so far to the right, that any rational and modern political party who would be considered moderately right wing anywhere else in the world, like the democratic party, is laughably and comically considered by people like you as "Left". You probably believe that the universe is only a few thousand year old, so, just like labeling a moderately conservative party as leftist, you would undoubtedly label the notion of a 15 billion years old universe as crazy. The fact that you hold crazy and irrational views doesn't mean you shouldn't be allowed to voice them, but it doesn't mean that sane and rational people shouldn't roll their eyes either.

Our dear Cpl. Groengeobbles

It has already been established beyond any doubt that our little Groengeobbles has never served in the military. The main difference between him and another infamous corporal is that Adolph H. actually served and fought in a war and our Groengeobbles is just another chickenhawk conman.

Groengeobbles is an avid reader

Groengeobbles never served in the military, but he is an avid reader of Soldier Of Fortune and he tapes every single Marines recruitment commercial on television.

Nazi haterd is very relative

Some people may be surprised to hear it, but in amongst Israel's right wing, admiration for Nazism is quite common. They hate what the Nazis had done to the Jews, but many of them talk openly about using the same methods the Nazis used on the Jews against the Palestinians. When you listen to Israeli right wingers(not all of course, but many) expressing their views on how to deal with the Palestinians, you might easily mistake them for Nazis. People like Foxman and Rabbi Hier are not strangers to this phenomenon, and in order to suppress any talk about it, they will label as anti-semitic any person trying to shed a light on this bizarre and disturbing Israeli right wing Nazi mentality.
