I really truly did not want to vote for him that context, as the lesser of two evils. I wanted to vote for the man who was supposed to change how the game in Washington was played, if not the game itself. Someone who would stick to his convictions and live his values because he knew they were right. Someone who did the right thing no matter what anyone thought.
But I guess I'll vote for the other guy. The one who probably won't suck as much as McCain.
...she should stop dishing it out. I believe wholeheartedly in gender equality. I believe everyone should be treated equally, regardless of race, gender, orientation, etc. But being treated equal means you don't get to hide behind race, gender or orientation when things don't go your way. And, really, what's the alternative to making her fight for the nomination? Going easy on her? Being soft? Letting her win? Because she's a woman? Oh yeah, that's going to advance the cause of feminism. Maybe Tim Russert should have intervened at some point. "Hey, hey, hey. Guys, guys. Go easy on her, huh? After all, she's just a chick."
She wasn't "piled on" because she's a woman. It's because she's a lousy candidate.
I love this column, and eagerly look forward to each and every one, but this one surpassed all the others in sheer brilliance and hilarity. I actually laughed out loud while reading it, and I generally don't do that when reading, maybe a chuckle, usually just a bit of a grin, but never actual laughing. Until now. I also don't usually write gushing fan letters either, but this one warranted it. So, thanks for a very humor-filled Sunday morning.
