I recall reading some time ago about women soldiers in an African country -sorry I don't remember which one- who had formed a "self defense" platoon. I read this in the Mpls Star-Tribune, although it could've been a wire story.

These women spoke reluctantly of their assaults,but their response to this was to go on raids to retaliate against their assailants.Their story was incredibly compelling. The male soldiers they fought with said they were the fiercest fighters-NOBODY would mess with them! I supect if our female soldiers went on clandestine raids and made a few threats the the family jewels (perhaps an innocuous cut for a souvenier)

the level of sexual assaults would greatly decrease. Call it the female soldier's Code Red. Can you imagine some good old boy soldier reporting that a bunch of women had taken him down? Yeah,I know this is vigilante justice, but, frankly, even if I got caught, I'd rather go down swinging than get prosecuted for AWOL,or retaliated against in some other way. Plus, the bonus would be a juicy story for the 24 hr news stations! There'd be more publicity than Tail-Hook. Do you think we'll see this suggestion in the government sexual assault website? Maybe not... You go girls!!!

Yes,I know it sounds like a bad science fiction novel,but couldn't you see a fundamentalist President fomenting a (nuclear or other) war to bring about the Apocalypse and Rapture?
